Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

I'll be staying away from church here, too, for the next 2 weeks. After each service, the congregations met and decided to close until (tentatively) April 5 (coinciding with the 2 weeks extension of public schools' spring break). A wise decision, I think.

Coffee's up! Water is available for the tea of your choice. Come and get it, but try to stay 2 meters apart....

I assume all the milk cartons here open with ease?
I have already had trouble with a new one at home today.

Consider it done Red - distance is good! And hand washing :-)
I did a smidge of pruning of my hydrangeas this morning; chatted with neighbours; went out to the local grocery store & produce supplier to shop for 2 sets of neighbours who are expected to return home tomorrow - so they are stocked now for a good return. It wasn't overly busy out there. The grocery store produce section and some shelves (canned veg & pasta) were all but empty. Milk was being restocked as I was present. There were large skids of produce waiting to be restocked. I think things will soon be pretty much back to usual tomorrow. I think the chickens have been slacking off tho - no eggs. But I did find some 'open range' eggs at the produce place, so that was good news. Now on to lunch and then back to my jigsaw for a while. My mate hung a grow light for me this morning & I will also move my seedlings upstairs ... ahhh ... spring!

Beverage Cart is ready! Help yourself, one at a time. Stay 2m apart. No need to crowd, there is plenty for all.

A 2 M drinking bowl is not in our tradition ... only for rhinoceros and heft a lumps ... found in darker gorges in Africa ...

Husband just got back from the Ottawa Valley, complaining about over-reaction, poor leadership etc. I told him that I was staying in, respecting the health and government officials and would appreciate NOT hearing his opinion! Isn't that awful of me?

Good for you @Nancy I'm thankful that I am surrounded (not physically at the moment) by people who seem to recognize the importance of distancing.

The coffee is wonderful as always. I am contributing a virtual campfire circle. Enjoy. 20200316_171338.jpg

I can relate to your response. Two of my adult kids rant boringly about anything reasonably sensible and caring that comes from government (in my opinion of course). Anti immigrant (especially if they have black or brown skin), anti supportive programmes for anything (they should suck it up and get a job etc) . I cringe every time someone says 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree' or 'bring your kids up right and they will be good adults'. We tried HARD. They are both doing what they want out in wider community. I battle every time one of them comes into our house - they could have the virus we are trying to avoid. They both think Trump is great.

It can certainly be baffling Kay! I think some 'kids' just get stuck in their 'oppositional' phase of individuating from parents & carry on attaching themselves to whatever mom & dad would not.

It is a separate kind of nonsense ... no ... or perhaps know, or something we should be aware of!

I'm booked in for phototherapy. 2x/week, no end scheduled.
Contact will be limited at the clinic. It's not at the hospital, but the building is shared with a large imaging facility - it's where I had the barium swallowed booked, so more than just ultrasound/xray.
Fingers cross this isn't a total waste of time until the COVID-19 spread reduces.
I will be asking my hematologist when to stop going due to risks.

Well my adventuresome spring break plans-a quilting cruise out of Florida followed by an Ont. visit with my folks (and Dad's 89th birthday) have become some chill at home and sew days. I am trying to get out for a daily walk along the creek.
No symptoms here but being over 60 with diabetes and asthma precautions seem wise and I am sticking close to home.

One advantage of working from home, if it ever happens here, might be the ability to do daily walks. I am quite sick of the stationary bike and have been quite energized by the couple walks I have done on weekends so far. Alas, evenings still get dark and chilly too early. Once the days get a bit longer, then I can do evening walks.

Both these kids took off for Alberta but eventually returned. When we visited there with them we found their friends and workmates to be what many call 'redneck'. Strangely another one of our kids also went to Alberta still lives there. That one feels feels 'misplaced' among all the neighbouring 'rednecks'!

Good morning! The beverage cart is ready. Come, sit and sip, and discuss whatever's on your mind.

My husband's family (9 of them) are keeping in touch by e-mail, sharing our concerns and comforts. Today's comfort was from his oldest sister in Vancouver: pictures of beautiful flowers beginning to pop up. Nice. (Here in Northern Ontario, I get excited about seeing a patch of dead, flattened down grass as it emerges from it's previous snow-bank home.)
