I am planning a women’s fun night with food and movie in February. Any suggestions for a funny Netflix movie with women theme?

Watching Black Earth Rising. Seems like it may be good.

It has the potential to be excellent with the skills of Michaela Coen . I first saw her in Chewing Gum (also on Netflix). Great sitcom for those who like a bit twisted british sitcoms.

The material is I hope enlightening, and I do hope it is well written. Fingers crossed. Reviews have been favourable.

Anyone using CBC gem? I knew they had some stuff online, but looking through some of it now there's more than I figured. I was hoping that with signing up there would at least be a list feature, no such luck. I don't know if the paying option is much better than way, the description doesn't make it sound like it.

I watched the new documentary “Alt-Right”. It is well a made and very sobering of expose of the disgusting right movement including interviews with Antifa (who are protesting these guys in order to defend the free speech and civil rights of everybody else!) and Alt Right leaders, a lot of footage from the whole 2 days at Charlottesville, and white supremicist meetings leading up that the crew managed to infultrate (shocking how Trump has emboldened these meetings) - about where they came from, and the damage they’re doing.

What was shocking to me was how the police did little to stop it. They did nothing for 2 hours when fighting was going on. The police in Charlottesville knew these neonazis were coming and did nothing to intervene - they came to incite violence against non-whites, their views are so extreme that anyone who is not white, in their mind, does not belong in America and they have no tolerance... it’s pretty clear listening to the interviews that their intentions are not to keep the peace and get along with non-whites. They are nazis. There were definitely some antifa who were prepared to punch nazis who crossed them...but to say their overall objectives, “on both sides”, are equally violent is simply not the case. I recommend watching it.

This review is a good one. It also points out, and I’d have to agree...that the film comes across as though they’re being a little ‘too’ fair to these new-nazi jerks. I think it might’ve been because those interviewed didn’t realize that the all white interview crew was working with an Antifa leader, a black man, who has spent 15 years exposing white supremicsts, as his primary vocation.

Admonition of sins of the preferred/elite (the other shue)?

There's a philosophical book on this set of mind called Irrational Exuberance! It resembles mindless esteem ... Fue 'n Choi?

The chosen can use strange tongues but the alternate can't utilize the phenomenal activities of essence lost in the past ... demons as drug out of the dark phases? This is when the body rests its connectivity with the bonds of the isolated mine 'd! Tis a black old vacancy ... constructing chaos on this side! That feeling something is missing ...

Theory: common folk (pagans) shouldn't know what the elite hold sacred ... thus buried jin nani ... mysticals?

We watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society last week. I had a tough time convincing my guy but he agreed that I had let him choose the previous three times. (One science fiction with exploding spaceships, one western with lots of sex and shooting, one spy story with lots of violence and sex). He really enjoyed my choice. Maybe he'll let me choose again sometime?

Oh, I loved that movie, too.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was great. I'm thankful hubby like that kind of movie.

We just watched Bird Box.
Quite enjoyed it.

It's a science fiction movie..."end of world" type story, with the main character being played by Sandra Bullock.
Glad u enjoyed it. I still haven't seen the whole thing. I'm innerested in the book it was adapted from. I heard the director, Susanne Bier, changed the ending'cause she doesn't like horror ;3
I find the movie 2 b quite Lovecraftian *looks toward a certain WCian* the bits that I saw

I just watched Bird Box too...sort of....I have to admit that I fast forwarded through some of it. So much death and destruction....I might need to stick with kids' movies.

Lol yeah.
Some of my fav horror n suspense movies were made by biowomen. Ginger Snaps I is a good example. And too bad u can't fast forward in rl eh? :3

(Stay away from movies like Resevoir Dogs n Captain Phillips n Caligula and Saving Private Ryan...)

Keep curious, friends!!

On my radar based on various reviews. Just need time to watch movies. And this is definitely not one Mrs. M will watch with me. Horror ain't her thing.

Ginger Snaps I is a good example.

Never got around to that one. Werewolves aren't really my thing, though I loved American Werewolf in London.

Glad you liked it. I saw it in the theatre this summer with my mom. While I am not a fan of 50 shades I did like the movie and its messages for older women!

The message being that you can have a book club? That's novel.

We just finished watching Midsomer Murders. Netflix just sent us some suggestions about what to watch next. That's good. We'll be in withdrawal after 20 seasons

We're watching Downton again. It's nice watching knowing the characters.
