I just watched Sick Note, a British crime drama staring Rupert Grint (Ron from Harry Potter). I thought it was well done, a drama but doesn’t take itself too seriously. There are two seasons out.

Bird Box looks good
I saw the trailer and man, did I feel anxious. Good suspense
Its an adaption of 2014 novel Bird Box by Josh Malerman

Almost halfway into Castlevania season 2 and continuing to enjoy. Vampire politics are now coming into play, with a powerful new vampire named Carmilla (after the famous J. Sheridan Lefanu story, I presume) who looks like she might be aiming to take power from Dracula. There's stuff happening with the vampire fighters, too, but the vampire stuff is more interesting right now.

While re-reading Dracula (the original novel) I have realized that Dracula in Castlevania is surprisingly faithful to the book in some ways. With a bit of redesign, you could use him in a fairly faithful version of the novel (which takes place about 400 years after this series so maybe it will be in the cards at some point, depending on how Castlevania ends). Van Helsing even talks about Count Dracula being versed in science and alchemy, which fits with the portrayal here, "Soldier, statesman, and alchemist—which latter was the highest development of the science-knowledge of his time."

We have really enjoyed Heartland - simple, easy to follow, suitable for all ages, lack of foul language and explicit sex. I'd be happy to watch it just for the scenery as it includes views in my favourite area of the country. New season coming up!

Not my cuppa but I am impressed with its longevity and that it seems to be letting the characters grow up with the show, at least based on the frequent ads and trailers I see on CBC TV and related websites. New season coming, I think.

We just watched Bird Box.
Quite enjoyed it.

It's a science fiction movie..."end of world" type story, with the main character being played by Sandra Bullock.

My grandson and I watched two movies together when he stayed over for two nights. The first was "Paddington Bear" (I laughed out loud!), and the second "Mowgli". I really enjoyed the excuse to watch kids' movies...I think they are my favourite kind.

Mowgli's a good movie. We watched it at my academy's Christmas Eve party. Darker and truer to the source material than Disney's Jungle Book fare.

What is truer in a non altruistic world built primarily of lies?

Could those poked into such and environment as consequence of lies ... have a Job of understanding such tales? It continues as if immortal ...

Thus the shafting of Moses ... and the Moira ... within the light of the 9 Muses on a stick ... swaying to the force of the Furies ... Winds of God?

Bi Jove that sounds like a Jive or Jittery beadle!

Watched that two nights ago. LOVED it.

But then I am a Walking Dead fan and generally like post-apocalyptic stuff.

I just watched Bird Box too, enjoyed it. Chemguy and I are coming down with colds (family members were sick). So I expect a fair bit of netflix watching over the next few days.

iZombie is a good lighter show that can be picked up and dropped off whenever - I'm finding it's harder to do that with many shows.

Travellers is another I've been enjoying, but I find that one to be one where it's easier to watch it all closer together. I watched season 1 fairly quickly and kind of glad I didn't start with season 2 until the 3rd season was also out.

Zoo 'm beas similar to the walking dead or ... Vu does in a stag party!

Some young ladies dare the men to overwhelm them in such manner ... thus blind operations ... people can do this to opposite sexs behind closed doors ... thus the understanding discretion ... some prefer opi ness ...

In the south they call this deboo tante or a coming out ...

Appears different to some folks that handle snakes ... jerks?

Watched Amy Schumer in "I'm Pretty". I wanted to watch something light and funny. And it was what I might of expected...young insecure woman accidentally has a burst of confidence that changes her whole self concept, then realizes she had it in her all along and she was always attractive in her own way. I kind of wish there was a movie where that point was clear without a Cinderella story to make it so.
