They do have extended amounts of paperwork to do now as someone is more attendant of nurses reporting rather than what is done ... call it excessive administration ...

We are slowly drifting back to a do-it-yourself economy for a people who have lost these skills ... the numbing down of society is a great command ... imitating the church paternity ... the common people shouldn't know ... thus much was lost in the nebulous fogs of time ...

Chemgal - I'm sorry to hear that your granma isn't getting a good quality of care. Is she at the same hospital you were at? I find this sort of story very distressing - I experienced it with a child after surgery. Nurses were nine hours late delivering meds that were prescribed for every four.

We had a wonderful Christmas yesterday with my husbands family. Gosh it was good.

I will open a thread over a frustration, and see what people have done to address.

I know how lucky that I am to hav such a big family around us.

Christmas morning – Seelerman and I have been up for two hours, had breakfast, listen to some Christmas music and opened our stockings. Lots of nice gifts from Santa (with a bit of help am sure from Seelergirl). We await a phone call from Korea from our son – who wishes he could be with us.
Then we will open some of the gifts from under the tree and by noon we will be on our way to the Seelergirl's home for more gift opening and then an early dinner. Her children will be arriving from their father's place about the same time we arrive. This is become our traditional Christmas in recent years.
Wishing all my Wunder Café friends a very Merry Christmas.

Hold the phone. Your son is still in Korea? For some reason I thought he was back in Canada. What city is he in? I'll buy him a beer.

Missing my family in Canada today. They're having a big Christmas party, with 22 people attending...

My Mom.
My youngest son.
Kae and her family.
Suzannah and her family (and one of her children's boyfriends).
Dr. Rae and his partner.
Mae and her children.
Cousin Jojo.

Just learned via the University of Waterloo alumni magazine that a woman I was friends with in undergrad passed away this past summer. She was only a year older than me. Nothing to indicate why, just that she passed peacefully surrounded by family, which suggests a health issue rather than an accident. Her brother is a United Church minister and officiated (coincidentally, I didn't even clue in that it was her brother until the day of the funeral) at Grandad's funeral.

Spend most of the day cleaning up emails ( finding things that needed to be done), then called my best friend inGermany, who is presently suffering from depression.
Supper at our Canadian friends house ( as we did for the past 18 yrs or so) and traditional watching of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Great times, good turkey, way too much food. Will need to go for a long walk tomorrow.
Still have to go through three weeks of emails....

No she's in a different province. It makes much more sense to me now why my mom was there almost 24hr a day some days. I do think she's doing ok now despite the step backwards after my mom came back home.

I've noticed a sadness that's new to me - when you're a teacher and favorite students leave. Just found out that one of mine has quit our academy, and another is taking a two-month break. :(

Cozy up friends ... the wind is blowing outside today ... skies are grey, and for many of us our hearts are sad upon learning of the death our dear crazyheart. So snuggle in peacefully on this winter day, after busy holidays. Knit, chat, tell stories, share laughter & tears, just be ...
