What an array ... would possibly turn a moderate fruitcake dis-position on his ear and emerald green!

With a frown like some world leaders ... Grinchy?

They wouldn't catch the satyrs ... moderate, honest leaders that is ...

They hate ordinary folk to enjoy their Deil ... Deis?

Today I make sausage rolls. These are to replace the ones I made a while back that have already been eaten. If my other half hangs about to help a bit I'll probably get some mince pies made too. Nowadays I tire faster so it really helps to have someone else help out with those little jobs like setting up a cooling rack or getting more eggs from the fridge downstairs. We both like having the odors of baking wafting around.

We had a freezer in our laundry room. There was always stuff in it. As it turns out, my husband would just randomly take stuff out of the upstairs freezer and put it downstairs. It was not a good system.

How does this relate to Christmas baking?

Well, we aren't bringing that freezer with us, and what we have is an upright freezer here. I can get at everything and see everything.
So, the old freezer, I have had stuff come over a bit at a time. A lot of it was fruit.

I made jam earlier, but, last night, I made two big batches of fruit leather. Haven't made it since the kids were little. Will be good to wrap some up and put in their stockings.

Is this good for sol?

Ah yes - the infamous upstairs/downstairs freezer problem. We have problems with that frequently. Easy to think that it would be a breeze keeping track of what is where if hubby wouldn't keep changing our minds!

Well, and I am short...with short arms. I have to almost stand on my head to reach to the bottom. It is worse the heavier that I am. Plus, it tended to have things get stacked on it. Anyhow, I know that I should be thankful that I had a freezer. One thing funny is I found a packet of ladyfingers. I don't think the company that makes them has been in business for at least two years. So, trifle this year will have ladyfingers.

Aaah, that is what I can add to my Christmas secret santa. Thanks greywolf. Husband would like more shortbread, so I will make a couple of batches. Thanks for the idea!

Ugh, we're baking way later than I prefer. Spinach dips are done although one needs to be transferred to something more disposable, both are in the fridge and will be frozen tomorrow.
Filling for the periske is cooked, but Chemguy didn't want to actually make them today. Either way something would have been done tomorrow because of the gluten issue from sifting the flour, kneading, etc.

We have got SO MANY home-baked Christmas goodies, I'm impressed. People are really getting into the Christmas spirit!

Not baking but my colleague made a dip for cookies, apples or pretzels the other day that everybody loved:

One ounce cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 cup icing sugar
2 tbs brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup mini chocolate chips

Lots of sugar- but very addictive. Likes it best with the pretzels
