I am sorry about the falls of your relatives Seeler. Risk of falls certainly go up with age and winter. You and seelerman stay safe!

Sorry but I didn't expect it people from Wunder Café to drop everything and rush to my sister; I guess I just wanted to hear your words of support. I am hoping that her friends, and harassed people from her church, will be able to offer physical support - offering drives (she doesn't drive anymore), helping with groceries, and preparing meals. I know that my church is been a great help to me when times get hard.
Yes they both were active in their church when they were able. In recent years health problems prevented regular attendance but they always contributed financially, and considered themselves part of the family.

I've been trying to convince my grandparents to start ordering their groceries - the issue is they don't have internet and don't seem to want to call to get us to order them. It would be nice if some of these places had a catalog - staples with ordering number & the flyers could then include them too.

In the case of your relatives Seeler - they could just ask someone else who orders & picks up to also pick up theirs, it really doesn't take extra effort to pick up another order, the most difficult part would be stopping somewhere else and dropping it off.

Every little town here in the valley has one grocery store that takes orders and delivers at least once a week. If this is a retirement community, I would think there will be similar services.

i was walking through st. jacob's farmers market end of day saturday as they were closing.
Bought veggies at an amazing price as a stand was trying to clear their inventory. I'm good for the week, including for stirfry
Then, a guy with bread offered me a box of bread for $5. He kept throwing things in until I took it.
9 loaves of bread, a bag of cubes, and a bag of submarine buns.
A bunch of the bread is currently lying out in the laundry room, getting dried for bread crumbs. The submarine buns will be for dinner with some of the meatballs that i made.
Remember that big old freezer. It is going to hold 3 of the loaves until after christmas!

My grandma has been doing stairs (with crutches or something I'm sure) and it sounds like has the right set of meds for now. My mom has a flight booked home for the end of the week, after an appointment with the surgeon.

Popping in to say high from sunnier climes. Rum and blue curacao now added to the virtual liquor cabinet courtesy of my current travels (I lucked out and found a wifi signal on a beach I am visiting). More to come later. Hope all are well. Healing vibes to seeler's sis and bro-in-law and anyone else needing them.

Trying to catch up on what happened in Calgary. High speed police chase, they said at least 10 police cars, I counted 12. Both on the highway and in residential areas within Calgary. The driver was 16. I don't remember ever seeing a police high speed chase in Canada before, only from the US.
I do hope the police had good reason to put so many people at risk, a tire was blown (sparks could be seen from the video) and a residential vehicle was hit with the driver continuing on.

Not sure how I missed hearing about this already, other than we've been busy.

Admit the world is rushing towards what Freud said was a sacred wish ... people become dead to it!

Consequence of blind science ... this is the opposition to blind religions ... take up a salty position ... preserve snapping and clipping as critical to the collage ... tis an odd image ... patchwork humanity?

Then raise the drinking age to 19, have the driving age at 17-18, when they're just a bit more mature. 16 just seems awfully young to be in charge of a few tons of metal.

Why shouldn't all law-abiding adults be allowed to drink?
I also think there are many responsible teenage drivers and with all the activities they can be involved with, I do think it's a good thing that they are capable of transporting themselves. I know for me if I couldn't have driven at 16 I would have had to have dropped something, as taking the bus wouldn't get me there on time. The driver in this case clearly did much more wrong than just engage in the high speed chase.

wishing everyone a happy holiday-what ever that might look like for them. Here -no christmas baking-it hasn't been a big traditin in mine, or the kids Christmas's.
I will clear off the table-it has a sewing mat and wrapping paper on it and did out our advent wreath.

I will tidy the living room so we can enjoy the beauty of the tree. Stockings are hung.
My oldest is thrilled as he has 10 days off-the longest break over Christmas for him in 10 years. My youngest is in great spirits and happy with some family time.
There is a hole where my middle belongs. I have sent e-mails and offered a flight here but no response and so we go on. I will pack that stocking away-it wasn't hung but still was ready just in case.

Some people don't abide with holes in the grasp! The vacancy is felt in an altruistic stile ...

Some of the enlightened elite can't see it ... just for the satyr value? Very Don Quiche ... some say Kush and regress into the shadows and silhouettes ... that make literature about those missing into tragedy ... the powers can't see it!

Like vapours ... I mist it ... clouds strike?

My mom is having a rough time. Grandma was weaned off of antipsychotics but put back on after my mom left.
I found hospital differences to be odd. After my surgery there were almost always 2 nurses in the room and there was always one. Not even a few minutes were we left unattended. My grandma would go hours without a nurse stepping in after her surgery. Staff was requesting family to stay overnight. Call button would be pushed and no one would come for quite a while.
