bwahaha: "
You found it on the internet, from an un-vetted, non-scientific source, and it involves fire.
That should be reason enough right there. Period."

That is worthy of @chansen

Imagine castles with multitudinous candelabra ... shut in by stone walls to disallow candles in the wind ... confined heat?

These sometimes exploded with people searching out gardens for God knows what reasons ...

Furnace is in, but I'm really not feeling well. I had an attack on Thursday - I think mostly due to smoke from a controlled burn just outside the city, but the unusual heat sources and working out were also probably contributing factors. Today I am having a massive eczema flareup. My face is also super irritated and peeling although there's little eczema on it. The stuff that was coming out from the vents with the start up of the new furnace is not doing me any favours, although the skin stuff was there well before that happened.
Luckily Chemguy dealt with all the furnace stuff today I 'slept in' - not really due to the clanging from removing the old but laying in bed takes less effort than getting out of bed.
One of the workers things he's coming down with the flu, so Chemguy also wiped down anything he would have likely touched with disinfecting wipes. He wasn't coughing or anything like that, so hopefully isn't too contagious even if it is the flu.

I did take a medication that can also be used as a sleeping pill, so I think my 'job' for today will be trying to recover as much as I can.

I have a question. Anyone willing to attest that the President's Choice Eggnog is worth the extra money over your local brand?
I think that was the one where it either needed a fair bit of rum or else the light was necessary. The light of that brand (if I have the right one in mind) was like the regular of other brands. Milk substitute versions, any brand I have tried, are the total opposite, very watery in comparison, maybe now with all the coconut blends that's not true, but I haven't seen the newer stuff with an egg nog.

And some folk believe noggins are out as difficult noodling ... with eggs in the raw ...

Say something to support chaos ... it appears to be preferred by humanity ... and why we're where we are at ...

I saw on Facebook that my brother-in-law is in hospital with a broken elbow. I've talked to my sister. Apparently he fell down the steps from the deck to the patio. She stepped out onto the deck and fell herself. The deck was covered with a thin skin of ice.

She is badly bruised but at home. He had six hours surgery on his elbow and is in hospital. This is worrisome, and there's no way I can see them. They lived in Elliot Lake. Both are in their 80s and no family lives nearby.

Winter is hard on older people.

Oh, i am sorry, Seeler.
I don't think we have anyone in that area from wondercafe.
Do they go to church? Maybe someone from a local church would help them out?

One of the things that I found whilst moving was packages of Christmas cards including some made by our wondercafe folks Mike Patterson, and some from @Seeler 's church.

It has been fun sending them on. Good memories of Secret Santa's from the past.

That is a long way away. 4 1/2 hours away from me. Geographic isolation becomes more worrisome as we age, I think.

That must be really worrisome for you Seeler. More so because of the distance between you. Distance, I find, is both a delight and a hindrance in Canada.

Oh Seeler - sorry to hear about the icy falls. So treacherous. I hope some community supports are available for them - I rather suspect there may be good services, as Elliot Lake is a quite a 'retirement' community now.

So true Kay - those Canadian distances are indeed a delight and a hindrance.
