Your seizures are quite different I would imagine Jae. You do not have a mass growing on your brain and surgery upcoming that will be performed awake. That is so the dr. stops if you lose the ability to speak.

That much is true Tabitha. However - I don't sense that there's a difference between a grand mal seizure and a grand mal seizure.

Quakers say they are” holding someone in the light” ( comparable to praying for or other expressions). I found it a bit weird at first, but when my friend died, I actually felt that it became a whole new meaning, considering that people with near death experience often see or walk towards a light and it made a lot more sense.
So, I am holding you into the light tonight , @Tabitha together with your friend.

Sorry to hear, @Tabitha, either of those events alone would be quite a jolt, both happening so close together is a double whammy. Hoping both of them recover well, and that you will come through this as well.

So, the not so fun part of travelling.
I got a quote of $400 to $700/night for a hotel near where I work.
That is too steep for me, so I went looking elsewhere.
All hotels were high, some even higher than that price.
I like chains for the points, and ended up at a Holiday Inn / Conference centre that looked decent, but was a 30-45min go train ride..
Turned out the conference centre is good, but, the hotel room....it is tired. Also, seems they have security issues. Also, seems as if the locks/handles on door are loose...overall, didn't want to sleep last night. today is better.

went looking for a different hotel so i could check out of this one, but, just not finding what i wanted, and the hotel that was recommended was in an oversold situation.

decided to check back with the hotel of first choice, and lo & behold, I got a rate of 172.
Now, you might find that expensive, but, it is a 5 minute commute, and it means I can work a couple of extra hours / day or relax.
Given I am paying 153 down the Go line, it is good.

So tomorrow, I will leave my car at the local go station (think i can leave it there for 2 days), and take the go into the city, and then sleep for 2 nights at a hotel that requires very little commuting, the rooms are clean, and the property is well maintained.

i will sleep better.

Good decision. You'd think there would be electronic ways to make this easier, yes?

Also, tab, just hugs. Hard when you have friends in difficulty.

:cry::cry::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: - tears are from aleergies!

Sorry Tabitha, but I had to read your post twice. I kept seeing that you sneezed in a visit with your favourite dog. I couldd see you suffering through watery eyes and sneezing while you sought comfort from a dog. Dogs know when we need their love.
Sneeze squeeze?
Glad to hear that things are looking up.

Initial appearances can be so deceiving ... requiring a squeeze of the abstract ... an unknown! Blacker 'n 'elle ... alas there's a spark at the end ...

Your sanity is worth something.

I know the sneezing thing. This time of year. Friend of mine put it succinctly: Stop the tree sex...
Ugh so bad right now. At least my lungs are mostly happy again, that problem only lasted 2 days. Eyes, skin and sinuses are another issue though.

I am home. Woop

What a week.
Missed doing one important thing, but, did a whole bunch of other stuff.
After dealing with NOT booking rooms and paying premium price or dealing with less desirable locations, i got my act together and booked hotels for the next month.
I figured out how to support the team and build them up through scheduling regular / planned days in a specific office
We hired our first contractor for our business, as compared to placing consultants -- which is fun. I am also thankful that it is both an ethical and just contract.
I am thankful for the people that I am partnering with for make some decisions. (and for workign through hard decisions)
I know it isn't for everyone, but, this kind of challenge and building is exciting

I came home to gardens that had burst forth -- which is lovely.

I am still bubbling through the joy of spending time with sister & niece last weekend.
Chatted with niece for guidance on a couple of items that we had discussed .

and my family...well, thankful to be home.

Okay, I hope I don't come across as whining and please put me on Ignore if I do, but I need to vent a minute and my usual set of ears is too far away and has enough problems of her own.

I feel like s**t. I have most of today. Why? Let's see.

I have a benign cyst on my back, for which I have a referral to a surgeon but no consultation, let alone surgery, date. It is tender and wearing clothes tends to irritate it. I suppose I could put a dressing on it but it's on my back and that's not exactly easy to manage on my own.

Then I had a sharp pain in my left shoulder from yesterday afternoon. It's almost gone now but it made sleeping hell last night (well, more hell than the cyst already was making it) and I still don't know what it was. There was no trauma involved, I know that. As someone prone to walking into doors and such, I'd know if I had injured it. But, as I say, it seems to be better so hopefully that's over.

And the lack of sleep has now left me grumpy, irritable, and with a mild tension headache.

I put on the movie "Cloverfield" tonight which I have wanted to see for years. Partying yuppies suddenly become witnesses to the destruction of Manhattan by a giant monster. My kind of movie normally. Got up to them fleeing over the Brooklyn Bridge and hit Stop. Just wasn't getting a rise out of me. If a city getting torn to shreds by a monster can't get me going, nothing can.

/End Rant

Cysts are a pain.
I get them too.

I am due for a "lumps & bumps" day with the doctor in our group that does cyst removals. I just haven't gone.
My Dad had one that got infected. Not fun. Lots of nursing care & packings.

I wonder about your shoulder.
If you are favouring one side, you may be sleeping differently than normal, causing the other shoulder to be sore

You are definitely allowed to vent and whine.
Sorry that your significant other has stuff on her plate remotely and cannot support you.

That's a distinct possibility. Oddly, I can sleep on my back or right side. Only sleeping on my left seems to bother the cyst.

I am feeling a bit better (emotionally). I think venting helped. Thanks for listening.
