It's fine for you to say what coffee is satisfactory for you but it's not up to you to say what coffee is satisfactory for anyone else. End of discussion since we're in Room for All and it's not the place for dealing with this.

You pushed the issue Mendalla. All I did was to reply. Anyway, yes, let's move on.

And actually, that sort of came to me when I compared my reaction to the news to my old guy's yesterday, when he was over here. He seemed a bit overwrought, and it seemed to be a combination of six hours of Humboldt Tragedy coverage mixed in with a whole pile of Trump and a little too much Kinder Morgan blended with Baby Trudeau (his words). I knew what was going on, but he seemed distressed about it and needed to dissect it all a bit. He has the TV on all day, I do not have cable TV, and wouldn't say I've even got Netflix open most of the time. CBC is almost always playing on the radio, unless I turn it off to listen to a TEDTalk or similar and then bliss out in the sound of silence.

And to add to Seeler's soup, I roasted myself a little chicken, with roast potatoes, mashed turnip & carrot, and a bit of gravy. It's smelling very good and I'm happy to share. No dessert, I'm afraid.

Oooo - I have a cookie tin filled with wonderful gingerbread cookies - and they're gluten free too! There ... dessert taken care of.

I have also brought along some Second Cup desserts. Absolutely the most wonderful.

I seemed to be feeling chilly and put on my heavy fleece housecoat - robe-dressing gown- whatever you call it. A bowl of hot soup will be great.

I'm glad people are enjoying my soup - espeecially since I made it without a recipe out of 'whatever was in the fridge'. I lovee using up leftovers rather than throwing them out.

Me too! Soups and stir fries are the best.
