Kimmio, the topic is FEELINGS about the U.S political situation. If you can't discuss your FEELINGS without getting upset, perhaps you should not hang out on this thread which has FEELINGS in the title.
I FEEL frightened by the U.S. political situation. But frankly, I also feel almost equally frightened by people who are swayed by emotion and dissension into a place where they are wildly "tribal", in that they aren't willing to look at other viewpoints. I mean, Kimmio, FFS. Inanna is merely trying to point out that there's a huge portion of the population who 'gets' Trump in a way you don't, and I don't, either. But you can't just DISMISS the FEELINGS of a large portion of Americans, even if you'd like to.

I have an overwhelming influx of crap on my various media inputs displaying that yet another person has mistaken satire for reality. Much as I love "this is not that" on CBC, I fear it's a dreadful culprit. But The Onion, The Beaverton, and even This Hour has 22 Minutes are all too commonly unrecognized as satire.

I absolutely get that you have some innate credibility, kimmio, on some issues related to adult, non-intellectually disabled, "differing abilities". That does not give you a pass to act like an idiot on any and all topics as the spirit wills you. I do not feel alienated from you, either, as a human being. I think you're acting badly, as we have all done in the past.
The whole thing about me being over-emotional while others are rational is a trolling rouse started a long time ago that has hung around as a basis for people's arguments against my point of view on heavy topics. It's another ad hominem, Bette. People are not entitled to that just because. A lot of people do it to me here, it's been going on a long time, and it's not a fact that I am more viscerally emotional than everybody else. Stop.
