So much for the nice weekend. Forecast is now showers starting tonight and going through tomorrow. Should have known it was too good to be true. Today is nice, at least.
 
I've been lurking more than posting this week - trying to keep up with all that is going on with everyone. @Pinga - LOVING the Rothfuss novel!

My brother - age 56 - has just been diagnosed with very aggressive prostate cancer, so that's been occupying a fair bit of my attention in the past two weeks. This, after him coming down with Bell's Palsy about 8 weeks ago as well - and no signs of recovery with that yet at all. It's a lot. But he has a good circle of support nearby & a positive attitude. His wife was able to navigate the health system quite expertly to get all the diagnostics done exceedingly quickly & he started treatment late last week.
 
Seeler sneaks in every day to curl up by the fireplace and listen to the conversations ebbing and flowing around her. Sometimes she nods her head in affirmation, or identifies with something the speaker says. Sometimes she murmurs a little prayer.
But she's been incredibly busy lately, and rather stressed (good things happening - but nevertheless stressful). Sometimes she just needs to listen and feel part of the room without joining in.
 
I am sorry fro yoru brother, Carolla. I know there is a time that we will each feel the loss of siblings. I am only there through relationship loss. Hearing of their pain or scares or knowing they face losing spouses is something that cannot be avoided in life, but, I hope that I meet with grace and caring, as I am sure that you do.

I am relaxing after breakfast. The house is quiet with everyone away or out.

Hey, Carolla . . . sorry to hear of the news of your brother's cancer diagnosis . . . an awfully terrible time for him, and all those that know and care for him. Glad to hear he has good support during this time.

You need good support too . . . your walk is different than his . . . but terrible non-the-less. We are here to support and encourage and care for you as best as we can in a "virtual world". Take good care of yourself as you journey with him.
 
My house is quiet too, Pinga, as it was yesterday. Hubby stayed at the lake and I am at my house because of weekend commitments. He is getting work done, and I am enjoying my alone time. I don't mind being alone . . . I get to do what I want (within reason LOL) when I want. He is coming home this afternoon. So I am enjoying my breakfast, my morning hot water and honey and cinnamon, and catching up on Wondercafe2.

Seeler . . . your attention to details and your caring makes your presence always felt in the room.
 
sorry to hear about your brother Carolla, and great that he has a skilled wife to support him. It is a hard path to walk.
Happy sabbath day to everyone-may we all in our busy lives take time to pause and just be.

Oh Carolla, what a kick when he's already dealing with one thing. Glad to hear he got through the health system easily though.

Happy Birthday Crazyheart!

This is the last week for my supervised exercise, I'm a little sad about that, but it will be nice to not have to drive across the city. Exit assessments are done on Oct 7, I'm curious to see how much results will show for that. I found it to be quite easy going in - I was a little afraid they weren't going to allow me into the program! I've met my goal though - to learn what's safe for me. That can't really be measured, except I guess my attack logs would show it (I hand those in, maybe I should have copied them to show this program!). I've also noticed fitness changes that I'm sure could be tracked with an assessment designed differently. Who knows, maybe there will be some changes. I just think the number of step ups I can do in 20s probably hasn't changed. Time me for 2 minutes and it would probably be a different story.

Now I need to go off into the real world and get into something!
 
Pilgrim doesn't post here very often, but just in case she is lurking I want to wish her good luck with her upcoming surgery. Pilgrim, I will be thinking about you.

Same here. I guess it's tomorrow after factoring in the time difference?
