Eighteen years is a long time. Eighteen years ago I had a different job in a different city. I was in a hospital with Mrs M who was in labour. Around 3, the docs and we threw in the towel and did a C section. Out came the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.:)

Short version: My little baby is an adult today. Chronologically anyhow.

I am thankful today for a wonderful members' working group. I have had the opportunity of working with a diverse group of people with multiple skills. It took a while to gather the right combination of gifts, but, wow, what a team. Passionate, willing to challenge each other.
From our forming, until the completion of the plan was 9 months, and at 4am the night of finally making it, we described the process as giving birth after a long pregnancy. Good days, bad days, but there was a sense of the final pushes to get it out. Then, the hormones and giddiness of submission. The criticism and blessings from other.
We delivered our business plan to the board last night. I suggested that like a new Mom full of hormones having the critical relative see our baby for the first time, we had to be aware of our emotions. It ended up being a good night.

On top of it, we were thrilled to find that one of our potential partners came through strongly with an email sent during, but, received after, that they were on board. The whoops could be heard and tears flowed.

Our plan will continue to evolve and the board has not given support yet, however, we do have approval to continue, and for that I am extremely thankful.

Activities being done that are not rational ... he tore out his Master bedroom Bath ... and painted the whole inside of the house ... contrary to medical orders for absolute rest! Heis lucky to be alive! Some trait sof our late and pig-headed father ... who had to have something to do as quiet times haunted him and he couldn't read ... or do other light work!

Yet he is still alive God bless him ... he does have a good heart ... though the connectors are messed up ... I am a foreigner in this family ... I can enjoy quiet and questioning times ... especially about gods, Theo's, duos, deuce and other schism 'd thoughts ... cracked immaterial stuff? Approaches ghosts of thought in emotional realms ... thus strange ...
Ah Luce -can be hard to watch that frenzied activity of denial. He is lucky to be alive indeed ... and hopefully he will soon realize this and that he most likely can and will continue to live for a long time yet. Brushes with mortality do interesting things to people.

Happy Birthday to Little M - does he get a new name now? I know - he'll always be this to you - sometimes I still refer to my son as "baby so and so" . And congrats to Mom & Dad M for all hanging in together - so far so good!!

Phew pinga - it must be with both relief and trepidation you hand over this labour of love report you have created. Sincere thanks to you and the team for their expertise and concentrated effort on this. I look forward to hearing more ... praying for continued life at Five Oaks.

I sometimes think that I should be calling him Big M given that he's got a good 4 inches on me, but given that I'm fifty...ish and he's eighteen, I choose to classify by age rather than size. :D

Typing along at my keyboard this morning I discover that one of the keys appears to be frozen. It is the key that usually re-uires a 'u' after it. I can no longer type '-uestions' or 'conse-uences' or 're-uires'. Has anyone else ever experienced this problem? What should I do?

That's a quality question Seeler. If I were you, I'd go on a quest with my query to the local qualified computer tech and question them. I'd unquestionably wait in the quick queue at Geek Squad.

New keyboard. Cheap ones work fine. Or, take it apart to clean if you're feeling bold.

Jae's response above is quick witted, but you'll spend more at Best Buy having someone looking at it than you will walking out with a new keyboard. Sadly.

The third option is put it in the dishwasher. Sometimes it cleans the junk out. Sometimes it fries the keyboard. If it's otherwise landfill, might be worth a shot. Just let it dry out for a couple of days before you plug it in again.

Be thankful all your Q's are resting sufficiently?

I held mine upside down and gave it a good shake. Amazing watching the wee bits falling out - mostly crumbs and dog fluff.

What about that "canned compressed air"??? stuff? (Obviously I'm not a techie)

This and this but, as @chansen says, a new, decent keyboard can be had at Staples or similar for not a whole lot of $$. Wired ones start around $20 and wireless around $35 (I recommend the former unless you move it around a lot or have problems with wire clutter in your work space). Stick to Microsoft or Logitech if you can. I find most of the off-brand ones (Kensington, Targus) don't hold up very well.

There's a country song about killing words....Looks like you are killing letters Seeler!

Worthwhile to unplug it and flip it upside down and jiggle it and give a few taps. It may dislodge a crumb or something. Err Kay got that covered already. That's what I would start with though.

I see Best Buy has one for $10. I hate to say it, but it's a no-brainer. Taking a keyboard apart to clean is daunting. Washing it...I still don't like the idea, even if I mentioned it. A can of compressed air will cost you half what a new keyboard will, and you can do 90% of that job with a vacuum cleaner
