Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Hmmm pinga - are you wearing your Green Bay cheesehead hat? No? Perhaps that's the issue ....

Completely ridiculous to think FB is a good place for in-depth discussion.

Even worse was the United Future site. Sad.
Back then some Web developer had the UCCan over a barrel with wondercafe.ca. You guys blew so much money with them. I think United Future was an in-house attempt to get feedback without spending another bag of money. But the social media people at the UCCan don't have the technical ability of the Wondercafe community. They used a terrible (but free!) platform for the purpose. It was so laughably amateurish, I hope it was an in-house attempt. If they paid a contractor, they wuz robbed.

I never replied. I have a reply in mind, but Pinga's obscenity filter would render it unreadable if I posted it here.

Hugs and spike apple cider to all who need some.
On a cheerful note today was my 2nd day of guerilla painting. Yes one of my office walls is now blue-almost teal. Totally against regulations and everyone is just looking the other way for me. I like it and did not like 4 beige walls. I gave up 2 sunday afternoon and a bit of money for paint but it does make me smile.

Imagine owned property on the inter Net ... belonging to a greater fisherman ... pied ease ... or pedantry on where thoughts go as raised by other than church authority!

So many interesting posts on WC2 today. It's taken me an hour to read them (and I skip some threads for various reasons).
I haven't posted much.
I would have likeed to get back to Bette and Paradox when they described worship in their congregations - so much like my idea of worship in the UCC - but by the time I read them the conversation had moved on for several pages.
I also wanted to pop in on Pinga's thread aboout wealth, but it was doing fine without me. (Actually I've been thinking of writing an essay about work, wealth, and taxes to share with my 'Writers' Grooup" at my church. Perhaps I'll glean some ideas from this thread.

As you have probably noticed over time, my posting is getting worse. Some days I have a hard time controling those keys on my left hand. Sometimes I go back and correct (I don't use autocorrect on my computer). Often I just keep typing. And I'm having trouble with my eyes - double vision being a frequent problem - and sometimes I have difficulty proof reading my posts. I hope what I write isn't too confusing.

By the wawy, as many of you already know from meeting in real life, or playing Scrabble on Facebook, or Secret Santa exchanges - my other name is Elizabeth Savoie. Here I think of myself as Seeler.

Seeler I wonder if the voice dictaction feature would help you? It's not foolproof-still needs an edit but may be asier than typing.

If size helps readability use control key and + key to make things bigger.
I value your posts.

I am having a laser treatment on my eyes Thursday. I'm hoping for the best.
A question though - lately I don't seem to have good contrast on my screen. It may be my eyes, but in case it is my computer is there any waya to adjust contrast.

I'm not certain about contrast, but you should be able to adjust brightness on all computers.
I think it varies on different computers. If the keyboard is labelled for it, it will look like little lights or suns, one filled in. For me I hold down the Fn key while pressing the left or right arrow.

You can also do so in your settings For me, I go to the windows icon in the left hand corner, select the settings icon (looks like a gear). Then system, display. I can play with a slider to adjust my brightness.

I like to read what you write, Seeler. Sorry to hear that the physical part is becoming an effort. The mental part is still top-notch.

Hi Seeler - you may want to look for the accessibility options in your computer. Most platforms do have them now - keys can usually be adjusted to accomodate for tremor, and screen colours can be changed easily to improve visibility. In Windows, I think when you go to the control panel you will see a section for "Ease of Access Centre" or something similar in earlier versions. Might be helpful to explore.

I had a phone call late yesterday. My laser treatment haas been cancelled. Instead I have an appointment with the eye specialist on Monday. Confusing of course the person making the phone calls couldn't answer any questions.
I'm disappointed - I guess I was looking for a quick fix.

OUCH. Today I went a** over teakettle-at the bottom of my front stairs. Stairs were ok , but walkway was iced over. FTwisted ankele, bump back of head on bottom step. glasses, car key s and purse went flying. Luckily friend was there. Hauled myself up the stairs and into house and into recliner. Friend salted walk. Neighbour fell as well. Young boy across the street said "Can we take the car. 2 are down already" No car but his mama carried her jug of icemelt on their walk to school-she also said she'd be right back if I needed help.

A few minutes rest, sore left ankle, sore neck, bruised hand but really all is well. automatic car so I can drive. I can walk but not lead with left up stairs. a couple of Tylenol help. It's lunch time now and very glad nothing broken no lasting injuries.

Ouch. Do rest and take care of yourself, Tabitha. I haven't had a good wipeout on ice in a while but I remember how it feels.

The ice is bad here too. I sanded the sidewalk yesterday - I should probably check that again today before school gets out.
Glad you're ok. I dunno if FTwisted is a typo or a great way of shortening 2 words together :p
