Room For All

Room for all is a gentle room where folks can come and tell their story. It has been full of acceptance.. That may be why Jae posted here. He could have chosen last thread where teasing and challenging is the norm.. So if you want a lottery please do it on another thread.

Actually, everyone has it wrong. In his response to Jae, chansen said "we need a pool." He's right. I'm always up for a swim. If there was a pool in this place I'd hang out here a lot more often. We could pipe Hawaiian music in, have a poolside bar. Who wouldn't want to spend time listening to Bing Crosby sing "Meli Kalikimaka" while cradling a rum and coke in a coconut shell glass? I agree. Let's have a pool. A heated one. Salt water. With a diving board. And a shallow end for those who are less accomplished swimmers. And maybe some pool noodles and some beach balls.

More seriously - I don't think anyone is actually proposing having a pool on Jae's return. It was humour - and, actually, pretty gentle humour from chansen's standpoint. And it caused some chuckles. I would say let people chuckle a little bit as long as the chuckling doesn't become nasty.

Let's just put asnother log on the fire - someone dropped off some really well-aged wood from an old apple tree - it will burn warmly and bright today. And come help me trim the tree - over by the window, well away from the fireplace; it's a real tree, a fir - and not from a tree farm but one that was growing wild near the electricty right-of-way - in a few years they will have crews out clearing the undergrowth before it grows enough to interfer with the wires so you might say that I rescued this tree to have a week of glory before the end. What do we put on the tree - I've brought an angel for the top.

But I agree with Tabitha about the intention of this thread- it's called room for all, not room for all,but....
Ignoring or removing would be the best thing for inappropriate " behaviours" on this thread. Things that happen in other threads should not be carried into here.

I guess distraction only works with babies. Doesn't anyone have anything to decorate this tree. I've found some old-fashion icecyes but if I remember right they go on last.

I like subtle humour ... if dark it gives a wall/Wahl for new ministers to bounce balls of thought off of ...

Some ministers don't believe in thought and knowledge that grows ... thus the status quo as institution!

I was told this as a young attendee to church and it was a gummy thought ... as it stuck to me darkly like a dark veil ... the separation between a ball of belief and a ball of knowledge ... where they overlap ... troubled waters ...

One old UCC Minister said I should always befriend a new minister to give the Nous-be something to bounce things from and tue ... a place where they could rest ... with as ain't Niche ... but it may not be as ID appears ... as the ID is ghostly ... po' lyre understood that mortals could imagine syncretic to pop up ... without harmony in said realm?

It does allow a gross myth though ... all built about the muttering thing ... out there as psyche ...

I agree with P3 and I was one who experienced bad behavior from someone. It is either laugh or cry.

And so the poll made me laugh.

Christmas polls and pools of darkness without any humour about in the darkness and shades of the lengthy night ... that tall dark and stranger thingy? Tis a mystery ... like murderous Christmas thoughts that draws on Rhodes rage ...

Could real people lighten up enough to be stood upright on the end of a tree? Thus the concept of merry tall chitz Ka bob and floating angels ... a much jacked up tale ...

How to get through it as a troubled state of mined ... in Celtic that's a 'don" or "ron" ... or a deep hole in the ground for roasting a sheep ... Ante Martha's? A pitty 've a story that is nothing without a niche ... these may resemble bubbles of thought ....

Seeler, can we add hand crafted ornaments that include pictures of loved ones? Our tree has ornaments made by my grandson that include his picture, going back to when he was in home daycare....5 years.

If humour is going to be disallowed on this thread, it may not be as accepting a place as some think it is.

Just saying.

But let's get on with the tree decorating and the swimming. It's pretty sweet to have a pool where I can swim without going out in the cold.

I don't think anyone wants to disallow humour here, just keep it appropriate.

I brought a couple boxes of favorite ornaments that I didn't have room for on my own tree. We can use them for the Wondertree.

Of course the appropriateness of humour is a fairly subjective call at times. I didn't see anything inappropriate at all in the post @chansen made but others seemed to find it out of line.

And we have been told in the past that some humour (example the running yellow thong gag) is acceptable elsewhere on WC2 but not on this particular thread.
