oh Greywolf336 - settle here a while in peace. Sorry to hear of so much challenging stuff going on for you this year. Take care of yourself, and lean into the love around you, as others lean into yours.

I did what any good carpenter does - I swore a lot and tried to forget about it. No time for soaking.

Dumb. That's what you should be doing right now. Have you got any idea of how bad 'infection' will be in the post-antibiotic age? Salt water and hydrogen peroxide are your friend.

Never said I was smart.

It was just a sliver of wood. I'll be fine.

If you'd like, start a pool on whether this will result in the amputation of my finger tip, finger, hand, arm, or my death.

Chansen, at the very least throw on some antibiotic ointment.

Greywolf sorry to hear about everything going on. Do what you can to stay healthy yourself. Was your boyfriend hospitalized or was he ok enough to do all his recovering at home?

Not real problems - a painful splinter removed, and then neglected. Will probably get better on its own, but may get infected and become a slightly worse problem.

Real problems - Greywolf's list. Greywolf you are experiencing stress from so many directions. Be good to yourself - try not to take on any more than you can haandle. Sept your priorities (and self-care should be near the top). Get lots of rest. Enjoy some comfort food. Keep hydrated. Warm yourself with the well-wishes of friends.
Let me get you a cup of hot chocolate and try a homemade T-bisquit and some of Seelerman's homemade crabapple jelly.

Well said

I agree that Greywolf's problems dwarf mine. My story and lack of proper medical attention paid to it were just a diversion meant to get a few laughs or cringes. I couldn't come up with a reply to Greywolf that didn't sound like a cliche. I'm not belittling anything but my own minor injury here.

If we throw in a quilt, it will be a real United Church event!

I echo prayers for help and healing, greywolf; you have a heavy load to bear right now - so be easy on yourself.

and how are you too BetteTheRed ... having been thinking of your friend in hospice ... gentle hugs.

So, I have been looking at software that a certain place could use for registration and some event management. All tests that I did were failing, until I found one that excelled. It appeared to be out of asia, and I was a bit hesitant, only due to some frustrations that I have had with outsourced these days, but, decided to give it a go.

Turns out the company is out of BC, young, vibrant, growing, and....the founders are passionate about the market that we are doing.
So...feeling rather good about it, right now.

Made dinner for the family: roast beef with a delicious mustard / horseradish sauce, asparagus broiled with lemon, acorn squash, potatoes, dinner rolls, olives, pickled beets, corn and coleslaw. Yum. Plus a white chocolate cake with strawberriesand optional ice cream.

I love cool fall days and cooking for someone who appreciates good food.

The cake was as we were celebrating a promotion of sorts for a family member.

Now watching the game.
Snuck in a work call at 8pm. Contract work is heating up
