Believe me people are aware of that. Trumpolini's goal seems to be to create economic chaos in Canada so he can annex the country. There has also been recent talk of an invasion. I don't give the talk of invasion much credit at this point. That being said, that would not be out of the realm of possibilities with this regime.

There's no fentanyl invasion and, if there was, it's up to the US side of the border to stop it from entering America
Tell that to the Dad (Clint) God called me to track down and comfort after his son died of fentanyl poisoning. God gave me an impulse that seemed irrational at the time to walk to a certain intersection at night, where I encountered the Dad overcome with grief after finding his son Eric on the kitchen floor, dead from this deadly drug. Eric had served me meals as a cook in a local restaurant. I treid to be as empathetic a listener as I could.

Trump cannot crash the Canadian economy. It can be shrunk a bit but not crashed. Our biggest export is oil and the US needs it. Their distribution and refinery system is designed to include it. They need our aluminum. Our steel industry will take a hit. Our local steel mill is already laying off staff. We will hurt but we will not crash. For most people the pain will be about on par with the pain that would be caused by Pollievre's policies.

Where are the voices of decent Americans and Canada’s American friends?
Why have no American leaders stood side-by-side with Ontario Premier Doug Ford and (almost former) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa, and denounced Trump’s sinister recklessness — and the real harm to real people, who are being made to feel great anxiety about their economic well-being, safety and futures.
Canada is being squeezed by MAGA maliciousness on one side, and the pathetic weakness of the Schumer Democrats on the other. They are bound on one side by menace, and on the other with fecklessness.
It is an awful situation.

For the GOP, it's the fact that MAGA is a big chunk of their base now and they are beholden to him for delivering that big chunk. If he turns on them, he could absolutely kill them next election. So that makes a good chunk of Congress, both houses, think twice about opposing him.
The judiciary I am less sure of aside from ones he appointed or are known MAGA supporters themselves (like Clarence Thomas on SCOTUS).
