Many Republicans are now starting to regret who they voted for.....not because they see how it's hurting others but how it's now hurting themselves. How? Christians got what they voted for - a Christian administration. This is exactly what they wanted.
The cruelty is not a bug - it's a feature. Same with the idolatry.
This is modern Christianity at work. Maybe it's not your version of Christianity, but it's popular. And it hates some people. People like trans people, poor people, people of non-European descent, people of other faiths, people of no faith, women who had sex and got pregnant outside of marriage or a stable relationship, and really, women in general.
Christians did this. Remember that. 80% of us atheists voted against this.
Get where you're coming from, chansen, but be fair. I think you're really talking about a specific group here, evangelical American Christian nationalists, rather than Christians as a whole. How? Christians got what they voted for - a Christian administration. This is exactly what they wanted.

Christianity and politics shouldnt mix IMO.let's not lose sight of the core values that true Christianity stands for
Nope. That fraction of the Christian pie may have been the most supportive, but all facets of American Christians, short of black mainline protestants, voted mostly for Trump.Get where you're coming from, chansen, but be fair. And their families. I get it. But I don't have any sympathy left for them. They voted to hurt people. That they ended up hurting themselves was predictable, but they were too busy hating others to see that they were one of the targets. Many Republicans are now starting to regret who they voted for.....not because they see how it's hurting others but how it's now hurting themselves.
At least we now agree that it was a segment of Christianity rather than the religion as a whole. As someone who pastors on the other side of the planet, I can assure you that it's not the whole faithNope. This is what American Christianity wanted. Not just the evangelicals. All of American Christianity will have to take a good long look in the mirror when this is over. This is on them.
What, about 2/3 of American Christianity wanted this, and that's good?At least we now agree that it was a segment of Christianity rather than the religion as a whole. As someone who pastors on the other side of the planet, I can assure you that it's not the whole faith
Didn't say anything was. What, about 2/3 of American Christianity wanted this, and that's good?
I'm a Presbyterian, as I have been for close to half a decade now. Not sure what's "pretty f***ed up" about that. You bounce between some pretty f***ed up positions yourself. I have no real handle on what your beliefs or your politics are this week.
Will write more laterThat one of the most Christian nations on Earth came to this decision, lead by Christians, is a warning sign. This is what Christianity can become. Anywhere.
Even Trump's most loyal supporters are outraged, as well they should be, by this insanity.
Hey, I know of some ways of contacting them. Let me know if you want info on that :3Groan. I love how people voted for him somehow overlooking the fact that he's at least as unhinged as he was in 2020, maybe moreso. And now are having buyer's remorse in the worst way. Thanks to them and to the people who sat on their hands rather than voting for Kamala Harris, the whole world is basically f--ked for the next four years. If aliens abducted me today and took me to their home in a far-off solar system, I'd be asking about their immigration policies.![]()
The clock is tickingAssuming there is still a way out in 4 years
That alas seems to be the way of our world? Could Christianity have survived without the blessing of the state? I don't know...Christianity and politics shouldnt mix IMO.
It just becomes another tool to draw in voters and twist it to say whatever works to get that vote.

Genuine Christianity is all about love and kindness, and it absolutely doesn't endorse cruelty towards anyone. It's really the actions of certain individuals that are the issue, not the religion itself.
That said, it's definitely true that some people have twisted the idea of 'Christian love' to justify being mean or cutting others off. It's horrid, but let's not lose sight of the core values that true Christianity stands for
Believe that faith calls us to grow. Can some Christians differentiate? Only enough to deny. eliminate and waste resources on defeating the divine abnormal ... anything that incarnates as diverse ... adulterated? Thus we remain as you know practically just born and some what ignorant ...
Can someone define somewhat, or is that indefinite as a word? Recall understanding the word (that's God) is said to be critical ... word bombs! This happens when they do not mature into decent thought ... indecency descends ... that's what it comes down to ... foul OCH when the donkey heels strike ...
Did someone get kicked over the dome ... that's dumb! I get this image of naked dew ... whet on the grass ... dampened vegetarians ...
