Few people examine the factors that have significant effect on the entire surrounding world ... and thus something is missing ... tis difficult to determine in a system that ahs hidden in it words nullifying knowledge, wisdom and all such dirt ... in preference to free will ... absent of the factor of response ... the onus of responsibility ... but such is ineffable! Don't mention it tho' ... tis silent and sacred attribute ... resembles that sinking feeling ... like when falling off late in the eve ...

Oddly, I've been listening to Homebrewed Christianity a lot. Very thoughtful discussion of theological, christological, and even pastoral questions from a fairly progressive/liberal standpoint. The host, Dr. (recently minted) Tripp Fuller, is from the Bible Belt (North Carolina) and has some of that background in his style but did his doctorate at Claremont School of Theology in California, a hotbed of process thought. He doesn't just discuss process, though, and has very good conversations with people, both lay and ordained, from a number of theological streams and schools. All that said, Tripp does seem to like the sound of his own voice at times and I'm occasionally willing him to pipe down and get back to his guest or cut down on the rambling intros he is sometimes prone to (mostly rambling on about some event or other he's planning or promoting).

Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
with Chris Gethard

114 episodes of Chris Gethard being phoned by anon peeps and listening to them.

I am currently listening to a young man talk aboot overcoming addiction and being sexually assaulted.

I see there are a variety of stories. A astronomer talking aboot universe. A woman who made a life change 2 become a sex ed teach.

My son gave me an audible subscription for Christmas. I do like listening to books when driving.

My book club gathering is this sunday, and I hadn't read our book, and....still have a bunch of sewing to do.

So.....downloaded The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods, and busy sewing.

quite enjoyable.

Wow, the old What Are you LIstening To thread is back. Cool. I am listening to metal. What did you expect? Mariah Carey? I know little about IOTUNN at this point, only that a metal influencer on YouTube put them on their top ten list.

In terms of non-musical stuff, my usual podcast The Ancients, though I listen less now that I'm not doing regular walks. Last one was on the Druids and about how, when push comes to shove, most of what people "know" about them is pure conjecture and often has more to do with British nationalist fantasies than actual history or archaeology. At most, we can say they were ritual experts in the Celtic peoples. Beyond that, the sources for them are all Roman and Greek so it is never clear how much may be propaganda or hearsay.

I don’t really expect people here to understand why I love this artist and amazing human being so much. Maybe some can. He hits the right spots and I can’t explain in words, exactly why, because we’re different people - I understand him by living my life in all its absurdity and difficult stuff and I feel him - sometimes metaphorically, sometimes literally - totally different upbringings and starting points. Defs NSFW.

Again, NSFW. Swearing, profanity.

The profanity will offend some people. He’s a conversational swearer pretty often - just speaks his mind and talks the way he talks. Doesn’t offend me, I’m used to it. But if it offends you, you probably won’t want to listen to him. He’s American, just finished a Canadian tour for his new album, 12000-14000 people came out to see him. I couldn’t get there unfortunately. Last summer he toured the US with the Snotty Nose Rez Kids, who’ve won Junos. He does wild, funny, stunts like crowd surfing in a huge inflatable raft, and across a red carpet the audience holds up. Lots of commenters saying he’s one of the most fun live performers they’ve ever seen. Goofball. Sometimes serious. I don’t know - he connects with people or he doesn’t but he was a diverse range of fans.

I use profanity in my writing where appropriate and still get grief for it from this one English woman on StoriesSpace. I shrug it off. I mean, if I am writing a story a about streetsmart criminal or a metal musician, having them talk "clean" is what feels wrong.

On topic, listened to a good Ancients yesterday. An in-depth look at a specific dinosaur: stegosaurus (and the stegosaur family in general). The Ancients has a very broad mandate, basically the Big Bang to the fall of the Western Roman Empire, at which point a sister podcast called Gone Medieval takes over. And that end date is fluid, too. Tristan did a show on the Polynesian settlement of Hawaii and that mostly happened well after the traditional end of the Western Empire, c. 1000CE on the Western calendar.

Everything is fluid ... why some of us always feel swamped in intelligence that others despise and eject ... thus eliminated.

I've mentioned this before about how an old retired English Prof got dissonant about my use of the word "Eris" in free form poetics ... she couldn't stand the rise it gave her ... she has since passed out ... simply gone from here! I swear it was non of my doings ... she just got really tense about linguistic protocol ... because of her sticking points ... a pitch? Dragonflies in amber ... fiery pi *ers ...

Adding this. Just because. I’m happy for him living his best life.

Luce - the “letterman” not Randy - is not god. Just so you know. He’s part of some esoteric club. He’s bad energy. He’s playing intrusive mental games. He’s a parasitic brain worm that needs a cure so people might actually be interested in learning how to make this world better together without seeking to do harm like he does. That is it. If you accept him he will look for opportunities to harm you. It’s like brain rape. Either that or he’s stalking me electronically all the time. I must make that point again unfortunately.

I have to leave the site for my mental and physical safety. I wished you’d isolated and disciplined him and not given him a platform. But, he was a member first. I’m sorry I was ever curious. He’s far more unsafe than unsafe is.

He thinks it’s how he uses what you say to make you feel bad. It’s only partly that - it’s the relentless brain raping and having his way. Good guy? He believes in the rapture and causing hell on earth - so you also know. I figured that out only months ago but looking back he’s likely believed that all along but just never clarified wtf he’s doing. People can say I’m crazy. I refer you back to look at how he writes. But don’t let him drag you in too. Don’t try to figure him out alone! And asking for his help to decipher will pull you in and he’ll try to get into your head. Don’t let him. My advice.

Who cares about his intellect, if he’s so invasive. It’s not worth praising under those circumstances.

Has anybody else signed on here or lurking ever felt this creepiness from Luce? You don’t have to answer me directly.

He has a relentless malignant ego. He’ll make you feel horrible about yourself if you’re underconfident, fallible, and not as smart - and likely female. He’s a destroyer.
