TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

This possibility was raised before. Going all the way back to when he was married to his first wife. There was speculation. It would've been embarrassing for the GOP to admit they elected and support a Russian asset.

I just want to get out ahead of this, in case this guy rises in political sphere. He’s been suggested to be a future Trump-like figure. He‘s a vet and has a disability. He is either being used for it or exploiting it himself to misrepresent the disabled community. He’s been caught lying about his background, things he campaigned on, and he reflects poorly on people with disabilities on the whole. But, there’s usually one person from any marginalized group who joins (or is hired to join) the right to soften its image, is given visibility, and helps them misrepresent those populations overall.

Can you imagine me be taken advantage of by some of these mistruths?

Maybe I'm crazy just to other people that were and will not admit to certain failures?

May be the way small minds work when they believe they are chosen great lye! God rests ... don't bother heh with small non senses!

Are you familiar with the context of heh? In ancient times it was a delimiter ...

Imagine heh in the midst or medium ...

Can you imagine that those desiring power and control do not accept responsibility for nothing? Then is nothing rather indeterminate to define for those so determined and absolute about everything ...

Words, words ... it is all in the words that were excluded as they told too much about that which was desired to be buried and thus food for subtle minds!

Words .... something to understand bet eH? Maybe it is beta ... left to rest like dark zero domains ... gamma-OD? Black modules ... dark holes ... these sometimes translate to Boson's between the ears when computing! Literary shadows ... aboriginal smudges?

These may be observed just over the visible horizon ... stimulating gross piles of myth!

NOSH-ite!

If you know some fecund crap ... bury it deep for generations to come ... at present the subjective won't like to hear of flaws ... crisis elimination?

I don't think this guy is particularly marginalized. He was a golden boy who was going places before the car crash that paralyzed him. He likely got all the best care. I've heard him speak in interviews a few times. He strikes me as highly ambitious and driven. I agree, he does misrepresent the population, specifically, young men injured as they're entering adulthood.

I meant in terms of having a visible disability. Underrepresented, minority - better words. It's sort of like black people for Trump.

He misrepresents people with physical disabilities, no matter how it occurred. Or, on the other hand - he shows that people with disabilities can be a**holes like every other human being and he proves that the continued inspiration porn that non disabled people eat up, is insulting - which was the tactic he used but he lied which is even worse. He doesn't do those who are marginalized with a disability any good to have a shady politician (already at 25 he's a shady politician) as a role model or representative "face" - as handsome as it may be.

...and yes, even this all American golden boy is marginalized, somewhat. He still has to live up to ableist expectations - one of which is that to be accepted to run in politics he has to have a more inspirational back story than anybody else. So he lied. Which is sad.

I'm vaguely reminded today, about a disability activist and artist in the UK - vocal against euthanasia - who sat on a platform in her wheelchair, in Trafalgar Square I think, wearing a nazi uniform. There were some ominous warnings in her statement. I guess it wouldn't be okay to post a photo of it.

He strikes me as someone who wasn't opposed to lying before his accent. I suspect too that he has internalized ableism.

Yeah. Someone who already had prejudices toward pwd's who feels they have to be a superstar to accept their own disability (keeping in mind that society reinforces and enables that so its probably not his fault that he would adapt with internalized ableism - it happened to him as a teen and that's a tough time - I've struggled with internalized ableism in periods of my life too - it's a recurrent process where I'm comfortable with myself in one situation around others, and almost apologetic for 'being' in another. Just today before these posts I was exiting a coffee shop without a door opener - feeling awkward to ask for help, determined to use one hand to push the door open and drive with the other. My basket fell off and the bag with a muffin fell on the ground and I spilled some coffee that was in my cup holder. A woman caught the door and held it open. Helped me pick up my basket etc. And I apologized. She said "it's not you it's the door. Don't apologize." Some people do really "get it" that ableism is systemic and that's a big cause of internalized ableism.).

Sounds like he might've been on a path to being pretty narsisstic beforehand as well.

That was my sense from the article about him I read (forget which one now). The accident might have changed his course, but the personality was pretty much there already.

It doesn't do anyone any favours to have him as the Republican's disability rep. He was probably scouted out - his story, his looks. Who knows, maybe he was coached to lie and get away with it until after he was elected. Surely there was some vetting and his actual background was known to some - he's young and doesn't have a long background to vet - including his family.

Maybe stupid youth phases should be forgiven if a person shows humility and maturity - smart ass boys and girls can grow out of it . But he's still in his, as a public figure (and Trump supporter) it's being enabled. He spoke before the riot AND he voted against acknowledging the electoral college votes AFTER the riot. He had to be helped to safety because MAGATs were putting him and his colleagues in grave danger, and he still towed the party line!

Reminds me of the 19 year-old uber-conservative Conservative who got elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2018. I think even Ford would be happy to see him off at this point. He's shown a distinct lack of judgement, including being photographed unmasked and not distancing at a large gathering.

The one who took a neonazi donation, or was that somebody else (federal Conservative maybe)?
