This possibility was raised before. Going all the way back to when he was married to his first wife. There was speculation. It would've been embarrassing for the GOP to admit they elected and support a Russian asset.

But, there’s usually one person from any marginalized group who joins (or is hired to join) the right to soften its image, is given visibility, and helps them misrepresent those populations overall.
I meant in terms of having a visible disability. Underrepresented, minority - better words. It's sort of like black people for Trump.I don't think this guy is particularly marginalized. He was a golden boy who was going places before the car crash that paralyzed him. He likely got all the best care. I've heard him speak in interviews a few times. He strikes me as highly ambitious and driven. I agree, he does misrepresent the population, specifically, young men injured as they're entering adulthood.
It's not left.O' Lord ... just watching George Burning as a humble god ... something missing from the powers that be ... radical esteem is it right?
It's not left.
...and yes, even this all American golden boy is marginalized, somewhat. He still has to live up to ableist expectations - one of which is that to be accepted to run in politics he has to have a more inspirational back story than anybody else. So he lied. Which is sad.
Yeah. Someone who already had prejudices toward pwd's who feels they have to be a superstar to accept their own disability (keeping in mind that society reinforces and enables that so its probably not his fault that he would adapt with internalized ableism - it happened to him as a teen and that's a tough time - I've struggled with internalized ableism in periods of my life too - it's a recurrent process where I'm comfortable with myself in one situation around others, and almost apologetic for 'being' in another. Just today before these posts I was exiting a coffee shop without a door opener - feeling awkward to ask for help, determined to use one hand to push the door open and drive with the other. My basket fell off and the bag with a muffin fell on the ground and I spilled some coffee that was in my cup holder. A woman caught the door and held it open. Helped me pick up my basket etc. And I apologized. She said "it's not you it's the door. Don't apologize." Some people do really "get it" that ableism is systemic and that's a big cause of internalized ableism.).He strikes me as someone who wasn't opposed to lying before his accent. I suspect too that he has internalized ableism.
That was my sense from the article about him I read (forget which one now). The accident might have changed his course, but the personality was pretty much there already.Sounds like he might've been on a path to being pretty narsisstic beforehand as well.
The one who took a neonazi donation, or was that somebody else (federal Conservative maybe)?Reminds me of the 19 year-old uber-conservative Conservative who got elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2018. I think even Ford would be happy to see him off at this point. He's shown a distinct lack of judgement, including being photographed unmasked and not distancing at a large gathering.
