TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Christian evangelists are the worst type i've ever met. I had a friend in university who was Pentecostal, and who spent some 30 years in Congo saving the locals. As we discussed it later, I was struck by his choice of who needed to be saved. Here is a country in which millions (nobody know how many) have been murdered and tortured. and many millions more in what may well be the most brutal colonial periods ever. Their murderers and torturers when forced them to work in vile conditions with almost no pay (and often none at all.) Their torturers and murderers were an and are west European, American and Canadian corporation bosses.

Funny how Pentecostals and other evangelists never think of try to bring to God those corporation bosses.
People choose who they help? And there r enough human beings around to do multiple things
Isn't Africa full of extinct and such Empires who had their time? And full of peoples who engaged in systematic oppression and slavery and such?
I wonder if Jesus posited the only instance of expanding kin to include say Nigerians and Labradorians?
So much human space, so much triage
(I like yer idea of evangelizin 2 CEOz; oh brave Michael Moore etc)

To fly a bird requires two wings, wings nourished by one heart.
I think you'd like Ben Shapiro
He's a courageous, smart, ethical young Jew who is trying to cut through the crap to get at the Truth, like all good Jews r taught 2 do
So instead of living in a world that is powered by 1 wing (feelings) having a world with 2 wings powered by Truth...

So here we are
In a small American town
The local HS' mascot is a dragon
Which I found out tonite is a leftover from the KKK
Who I was told still is here but no one knows where they exactly r
And there apparently was a cross burning in 2000
We were given some fun podcasts to consider by a Delightful Dem union supporter

Great that Meistr Hedges isn't a theoretical academic but HE HAS BEEN THERE actually to see how some countries have gone off the rails
And he tells Truth that is often painful
And he seems willing to accept the consequences of his decisions and actions, which includes getting a criminal record

Is he running a hedge fund ...

Hmmm. This is interesting...one pictures evil masterminds working in a dark lair somewhere in the 9th circle of hell - thousands of leagues below Siberia. But nope...just some hipster geeks in a non-descript, make-shift office beside a busy road in Anywhere.

I would've figured this woman to be a Clinton supporter, or maybe a Bernie supporter.

So, what do you think about Trump's response to the events in Charlottesville, VA over the weekend? What do you think about what he said, and what he didn't say?

I think it was unpresidential. At least, irresponsible for a leader of his stature. I think the white supremacist groups are a strong part of his base and that's why he minced words.

And offering "best regards" to the family of the woman who was killed seemed appallingly empty and insincere for the gravity of the situation. That's how you sign off on a mundane business email.

I also noticed how quickly the news moved away from talk about NK.

He's a jackass. Will write more a bit later. Gotta go greet Yobo.

Right, so I say he's a jackass for a couple of reasons...

One, his tweet, "Condolences to the family of the young woman killed today, and best regards to all of those injured, in Charlottesville, Virginia. So sad!" Offering condolences is, I feel, right and presidential. However, "best regards?"

Two, his comment, "We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides.... It has been going on for a long time in our country -- not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America." No, the hatred and bigotry was on one side, as was the worst of the violence - the white supremacists.

Source of quotes: Trump condemns 'hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides' in Charlottesville - CNNPolitics

Today the White House issued a new statement saying that the president condemns all hatred and bigotry, and that of course that includes that which comes from hate groups. Sadly lacking (from what I just heard on the news anyway) is any kind of word on what (if anything) he'll do to end said hatred and bigotry.

Right, sorry...the best regards were for families of the injured. Still very much lacking in even trying to sound sympathetic.

And the WH and Ivanka put out stronger condemnations of white supremacy, a day later, but he didn't. Maybe as a "requirement" to appease his critics while staying safe with his base.

I'm inclined to agree. His statements yesterday seemed to be weasel words. And the WH Spin Doctors today really didn't help the situation at all. It's sort of like the time he 'congratulated' a wounded vet for 'winning' a Purple Heart. Just not right.

Do you think it would be possible that Trump himself would be under a threat from the white supremecists"? As in assassination? He doesn't strike me as especially brave that he would shrug any threats off, but could very well be intimidated.
