"But ancient rulers were not democratic." Kimmio

Hi Kimmio,

You assume that we are a democracy. It is what we have heard from our infancy. All while the manipulators of commerce seduced a clear majority to abdicate the responsibilities of a citizen and "sign on" to the duties of production and consumption.

I admire your hope and your progress along the way of dialogue. We are not here to determine who is right and who is wrong. We are here to support and encourage one another in the maturation of character manifest as respectful truthfulness in word and deed. By this way we may discover who it is we each truly are and what we may truly accomplish. Always having in mind that one life lives in us all.

George
I see a huge danger that if a system is going to be ripped down by destructive populist impulses - what will replace it will be just as bad or worse. That is what is brewing down south and in Europe. We should know better. And, we are a democracy - and we let the 1% gain power by buying into trickle down economics and electing people to pass laws like corporate personhood, and shaping the big money lobby (well, we don't have that so much here but we are affected by it coming from down south). But the thing with having a citizen run system is it gives a framework to begin to peacefully undo the laws that oppress people - and a peaceful means to challenge injustice. We are fortunate to have that. Our early ancestors didn't and neither do many in the world today.

Reported.
Anyone who thinks someone has really crossed a line with a post, does not go and quote that post so it gets read all over again. Even simply announcing "Reported" smacks of wanting to get sympathy more than corrective action. It's the playground act of announcing that you're telling the teacher.

I don't know what's messed you up this time, but I don't like being played and provoked just so you can get your jollies. I let others handle you on the recent Katimavik-related post in the Intentional Christian Communities thread, but here I thought I should say something.

Hi... Defining a person's intention is risky business. The "troll" boundary is easily crossed. Also wise to not add weight to a position by indicating "a lot of people" in agreement. Better to speak one's own mind and respect, which does not require agreement, the listener's mind.

Better not to bite the bait than belittle a fisher for provoking you to it.

George
George, I recognize that you don't like my methods, and I'm not a fan of yours. Other than methods, I suspect we agree on a great deal. When we aren't talking past one-another, at least.

I didn't say anything wrong on the Katimavik-related thread chansen. I didn't say anything wrong on this thread either. I regard your actions here on this thread towards me as being those of bullying. Hence I have reported them. Should I ever feel that way again in the future, yes, I will report them again. Have a good evening.

Can we move back to discussing Trump? I think his words and actions provide more than enough material to stick to him on this thread.

Let's try that one more time...

Question:

  • Will you, a rational and good being, having for a moment appeared in this world, and at any moment liable to disappear — will you take part in the murder of erring men or men of a different race, will you participate in the extermination of whole nations of so-called savages, will you participate in the artificial deterioration of generations of men by means of opium and spirits for the sake of profit, will you participate in all these actions, or even be in agreement with those who permit them, or will you not?” Source

My Answer:

  • I will to not - but I still do drink Coke so I have a ways to go to ridding myself of the banal nature of my evil inclinations.

Thanks George, for the link:

Better Answer:

  • One course therefore remains — to fight the Government by means of thought, speech, actions, life, neither yielding to Government nor joining its ranks and thereby increasing its power.

Rights ... allowing to let the word run free as not confined to one book ... virtue according to Johns perspective in dark concerns of what space to put free thoughts into ... one should put them nowhere according to au-Thor -ite ... thus the entanglement of the mine'd ... an non issue with many that wouldn't go that far ... thus mine 'din ewe is disposed of?

But Din-ewe is easily redacted (Rae dactyl) to di Nous and it has dual parts in creating conflict ... but some can't see it as it is dark as the shadows under the epistemological device ... LOGOS tree where light is consumed ... causing some indigestion as they cannot digest the content ... nothing but Eire here ... or Eire a' tree awe ... some poet who relates to a pile of word ... even the chitty stuff!

Seriously down in the polls chansen? I guess it would depend on how you want to define "seriously." The poll results I've seen show him doing quite well against Clinton - although she is slightly in the lead.

First, I don't do that. I accept that as being your perception (your much-repeated perception), but you're wrong. Second, why are you even bringing @monk into our discussion? I haven't said monk tries to incite other people to anger. Indeed, I can't recall saying anything about monk, and he and I have not been discussing anything.

You perceive???????????

"Not discussing anything" or just discussing nothing????????? Thus lapse ... I.E. do I sense something missing ere ...

Interesting post monk. I wonder if @chansen is just pushing my buttons. Could it be?

To every action there is reaction ... mother nature? Some only choose de fodder and thus feel chewed over ... a false sense when they are perceived as not there ... a humble lapse ... where "thought isn't" as incarnate devoid ... this is common in the particular zone of down to earth polity ... rather extreme and they don't know it ...

Hi...

Paulo Friere is helpful in his notice of the oppressor oppressed relationship. The oppressed turn against one another in frustration rather than confront their oppressors with active withdrawal as creative resistance.

We are a community divided in opinion. This is perfect when that division is addressed by critical inquiry and evaluation. It falls far short of perfection when the division is expressed as motive guessing and label assigning. This shortfall indicates the degree to which politics has polluted and defiled our human potential.

To say politics is necessary is to deny the ordered cosmos in which we are formed by principles tending towards harmony. We are not required to do more in order to recover the failure of harmony now expressed every day every where. We would do better to do less. The disciplined withdrawal of persons from the diversions and distractions of the political realm governed by persons proficient in capitalizing on the vulnerability of others.

It matters not one wit whether Hilary or Donald obtains the presidential authority. To take the political discourse seriously, as some here do, is to be lost in the ideologies of liberal democracy under the sign of capital interest.

Mythologically.... Jesus says no to that which is affirmed by Herod (politics) and Ciaphas (religion).

George

Thus the actions of religion and polity pile up as nothing ... the void or lapse of common sense as previously stated when de light left this place in a stir ... a mental eddy? Action breeds reaction ... mother nature creeps out those loving the harmony unseen from extremists (polit-I'z-ed peoples; eM out there on the chitty NDs)!

Just checked and this is what Winston actually said:

"Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense."
George

Thus particular fixation or stoic behaviour towards things that would fail anyhow? Even Nazi-ism has a built in failure device ... it is composed of mortal composition ... people with lapse ... IT goes round ...

Do trolls receive ante trolls or what the cat drug in ... ode 've the dark system called a complex of word which is po'ly miss understood ... as an entity wishing to be messed around with ? Words a lonely because of their existence as an icon of expelled thought ...

It was once said that the Hebrew God was a black personality ... the Aramaic said they wandered across an arid space as dry as the back of a lambskin where the story popped up.

The fathers of Rome oppressed the education of the common folk (Johns) as they felt it better for church busy ness if unknowns prevailed ... and thus the light and illumination on the subject at mind became subtle ... can you imagine this Jacked up into alien domains like between the human ears/Ayres? Yes men!

Ever hear of digging into humanities non-sense about fixations and institutions that will not learn anything that can get them in deep water ... thus the Duncan of Hellen ... a Celtic essence of a woman ...

Baptists confine their women ... no opinions from the mother of souls ...
