...and I don't know if the steroids got used for prophylaxis or because he's in rough shape. Anyway, he's not going home. It's back to the Reed Hospital now. He did have oxygen friday. Confirmed.
My understanding from the following article is that Remdesivir needs to be given at the onset of Covid and is basically ineffective if you wait to give it until after COVID becomes severe. So a prophylaxis for now, but being already in his system should his COVID get worse later, then it gives him more of a fighting chance due to it's early introduction into his system.

It was said that Trump's temperature spike and oxygen saturation concentration was momentary ... possibly indicating instability?

In the world demanding emotional content alone ... desired irrationality extended? So thoughts go as*unque ... wells are profoundly like that on the surface ... just *hole-ah?

Joey's brethren suffered him that ... ode Joei?

Apparently he may have tested positive earlier than previously reported, which in that case would mean he's infected a huge number of people. Will have to stand back for the fallout. Back to work day for Donald. "What did I miss?"

Interesting to read conflicting medical opinions

his docs say all is good, doing well.
yet they have given him two experimental drugs and have him on steroids which is indicated for severe illness

odd

now expect because he is the president they just want to give him everything they have in the tool box

but oddly steroids increased your risk of infections so not usually given just because

That's also what some "expert" from a FB comment thread said. They administered the heavy hitter drugs.... the next 10 days will tell the tale. Initial symptoms were worrisome. Anyone's guess.

He's the POTUS. He's getting the best care money can buy. Supposedly, they'll let him leave the hospital tonight. If it was dire they would not let the POTUS leave they would stress that it's dangerous. Obviously it's not. Some are hoping for a more dramatic case - like, maybe he'd have to step down from his job and stay in bed and look after this, but that's not happening. The drama was in the joyride and that's about it. He went to the hospital for a few days, as happens to people now and then, and I think it's just going to go back to DJT business as usual. There are hundreds of thousands in the US, not as lucky as him, but he's not going to give that more thought. If he feels fine and it wasn't that bad for him he can't empathize with how bad it's been for others. If he's fine, everything's fine, in his world.

For those non-medical types, or without exposure to certain classes of drugs, I'll remind you of exactly how good one can feel with the "correct" dose of steroids, lol.

Having had the same steroid as part of my chemo treatment I can confirm that to be true. It gives some energy and can make you feel quite pumped up. I personally experienced some more fluid moods. Thankfully I'm not under a huge amount of stress and have the skills to regulate my emotions. When the steroids wear off, the energy goes. Quickly.

I hate prednisone. Dad was on a regular dose starting in the early 60s, for uncontrollable asthma. He died of pneumonia in his late 70s, 40 years later. What a horrible mess. There's a gazillion side effects, and a body gets micro-dose-adjusted. Last three years of his life I spent a lot of time rushing over to the hospital or calling the nurses station and saying "hold the steroids til I get there!!!!". A 'roid rage in a frail 77 year old is not funny.

I've only had very short term doses of Prednisone. I had the Dexamethasone with chemo. It probably wouldn't be as much as what they would give someone with covid. I'm not in a hurry to take steroids.

With Trump, I do think it's a bit early to say based on when hospitalizations tend to happen (although who knows how long he's actually had it). I do think though specific antibodies & an antiviral are going to do a fair bit for him - and that's not something that most people can just access easily even with money.

He just tweeted a video from the WH and he sounds sincere. He may or may not understand any broader implications to what he's saying - as in, most of the people he's speaking to won't necessarily get access to the "best medicine" but he sounds sincere about it. I think he believes what he's saying at the moment. Because, as I said before - he feels fine, so in his mind it's the same for everybody.

...so the nightmare continues. Everybody casts off their masks since they are no longer afraid of covid and the numbers rise, the misery never ends....and they really want to come north.
