The thread tittle is from the song in the sound of music "Brown paper packages wrapped up in string these are a few of my favourite things"
Please post a photo of table runner when done. It sounds gorgeous.

Actually, did you know that"Sound of Music" is completely unknown in Europe, even though it supposedly happened there? Canadians probably just remember it because its played here every Christmas season.

I attended a performance of Sound of Music in London as a much younger woman. Also Fiddler on the Roof and other delectable bits and pieces.

Suspect that was about the same for me, Tabitha! Gone with the Wind was my first I think. My mother didn't do Disney, except for Fantasia.

Saw both as kids. We usually went to an outdoor show every summer with relatives for a number of years.

I definitely remember seeing the movie when I was very young . . . not sure if it was before or after Mary Poppins and My Fair Lady. I saw the stage production of Sound of Music a few years ago & loved, loved. loved it!

Sailboats and kayaks and orange lifejackets
Fibre glass camper if I don't have to back it
Fabric in colours that make my heart sing
These are a few of my favourite things.

Yup, as a quilting person I do love fabric- especially wild batiks. My stash contains lots of more muted tones for the landscape and picture items I also make. Favourite colours tend to be blues and greens in great variety, with accents in yellow or lavender.
I really don't like 'smelly things' like scented candles, perfumed soap and the like. They steal my breath away and make me cough and sneeze.
I enjoy recipes for less common meals - based in dried veggies maybe. When I use a recipe it is usually from one of the MCC books. Generally economical and tasty.
Super dark chocolate is a well loved item. Oh yeah - and dark fruit cake too.

Continental Europe possibly. The stage show has had several successful runs in the West End in London, UK including the first in 1961 (2500+ performances) and a successful revival in 1981.

I don't have a cell phone, or a tablet. Love chocolate, even more butterscotch, no scented anything please...
We are big on no scent in activities and church too. Like artsy things, and art, not big on salty items, though may like them.
Love cats, ...no not the real thing. Those days are over for me, sadly. No wool. surprise me.

I may did a little of this before, but after seeing some of the things, it seemed I might add a bit more.
Hope this is a help.
Blessings all

Oh yes... dark chocolate is best. Cool sunglasses. I have to wear them all the time. They'd need to go over regular glasses.

There are people that absolutely oppose icons as symbols of things that are ... and thus by dissing they are out ... and few understand the primal forms of symbols and icons as passing streaks ... like haute flashes in de night sky ... and in a stage of conflicted thought and desire chi was gone ... so Ide past ...

Life is like that ... without lightness one shall not catch the heavies ... to much impetus ... and impetuous about going on ... thus the crisis in critical thought ... already its going ... as fore bode ... past tense of bide 'n?

Some folk fight to the death over these uncertainties while some of us back off and observe with a giggle ... authorities may believe its about them so back off a good distance ... kind 'a fade into the host ... pretend like nothing ...

Then thou mayst be a lighter shade of pale ...
