The ultimate out-of-there cannot be within regardless of how it is dispersed ... because of the hard shell we cannot see it Molly!

You cannot sink anything already at bottom level ... the human flaw of common grief ... only the vapor moves on ... in essence! This must be understood and many irrational passions are up against understanding ... that's my myth! The erratic cannot hear of it or see because of something opaque ...

It is like that painting or virtue emerging from the well ... mankind will take a whipping from a Cat o' 9 tels! Take your lumps and get over it ... as difficult parable ... hyperbola in many common surroundings ... extended?

I also included it as one element in tbe message yesterday. Being connected to God and open to God's leading can allow the God presence in us to shine for others in how we connect with them. Shining can be expressed love or visible light. It is the idea behind the hymn, "Shine Jesus, Shine".
Reminds me of "Fly your freak flag" from the Jesus Freak movement :3

People not being afraid to Shine

(maybe also connected to the Christian concept of a prophet? Lead by example thereby encouraging others?)

Or another metaphor I have used is people who are candles, lighting the way

Other connexions: Holy Spirit filling to overbrimming Light

Greeks thought one could always recognize a deity (they liked putting on mortal guises) by their high levels of hilaritas

And so it goes

Then you picked the wrong text and used it serve your ungrounded preaching agenda. In the Transfiguration account Jesus' clothes shine, but there is nothing about a light within either Jesus or His disciples. It is vital that the preacher not play God by straying from the intention of the biblical text. The correct text for a light within is:

"Let your light so shine before people that they see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)."

And here the point is that people don't simply see your example and conclude that you are a helluva nice person; the point is that your example is so full of gratitude to God that your example inspires them to glorify God.

What made Jesus's clothes shine white then? If not the inner light?

Was God shining a high beam light onto the mountain?

Did Jesus reflect the light of God somehow?

However you look at it, the light is a metaphor IMO. Does anyone posting here think the story is a literal account of super bleached clothing?

My message was mostly about the experience from the point of view of the disciples, trying to imagine what it felt like for them, and how we csn connect their experiences to our experiences along with how they responded and how we can respond. A possible response is to dare to let our light shine.

Well I was thinking the " transfiguration", that includes a blinding bright light, is only for a few.

"Hello Go---ach Lord! Could you dim yourself a bit? I'm wearing welding goggles and you are still blinding me"

serve your ungrounded preaching agenda.
Dude, please don't bring USA politics into this discussion. I do hope you are practicing proper mental and emotional hygeine by limiting your news intake as it is mostly madness there lol

Jim and the rest of us have no agendas
We are human beings going through life
We aren't like the "moral majority" down South who are so anal and anxious and fearful...

God continue to bless you to bits

Duh, politics were not mentioned in my post! That's your clucking canuck projection to avoid a message you can't hear--that its wrong for preaching to duck the obvious fact that there are correct and false biblical interpretations; so careful attention to relevant scholarship and the intent of biblical authors is essential to proper preaching--a fact taught in seminary preaching classes of which Jim is blissfully ignorant. I see Jim's preaching as sustantially agenda-driven, the agenda of preaching his woke social Gospel with indifference to what the text actually teaches.

Oh, and I live here and you don't. And I see the Canadian ethos as more anal and anxious than Americans I encounter on a daily basis.

The Holy Spirit is not even mentioned in the Transfiguration account.

Thus that particular spirit is dun gone in essence! Noxious thoughts w/o care --- ANi!

The spirit and soul in combination is Magi ... often stirred in the darker places ... Eve Angels? Expect eruptions that one liners find unsupportive ...

Interesting Mystic had never heerd me preach, though he might have read one of my posted messages, yet knows my agenda. I guess it is woke to encourage people to make connections between scripture and their daily lives, to encourage them to live out their faith, and to believe they are deeply loved by the divine. It seems it is woke to encourage and support people to make love the base of their living. Maybe it is woke to allow or encourage people to regard the Bible as a work by human hands and minds, and to evaluate it as such.

Ah HA! Taking the mickey, eh?
(note folx that this might be an angle to deal with this. Dealing the Dozens, takin the mick)

take what I wrote as constructive criticism, something that USA culture encourages. that is one of its amazingnesses. one can't do that in any country

i was writing aboot this:
Mystic wrote: "...serve your ungrounded preaching agenda."

that triggered a notion that this sounded paranoid, conspiratorial? something that seems big in USA right now (well has been for around a decade?) and ideas pass freely across the border?

it also reminded me of the Moral Majority and their anxiety and fear over "worshipping the wrong way"

and get it right, i am a Cascadian, hon :3
i am not a Canadian nationalist nor do I slavishly follow the Dems or GOP...

listen to us. use your eyes and ears, and get oot of your own way

i enjoy your works, your occult-adjacient theology, and i enjoyed USA so much I married one of you :3 one of her family uswd to vote Republican, then quit
