But if, for better or worse, one is so taken with this "little gem" that one chooses to obey it to "the letter," then that "little gem" cannot be composed of "dead letters" because by convincing someone to live by "the letter" they have demonstrated that they are very much alive.

ditto
But this "little gem" of scripture should be dead, and that's the difference. Only the best of the old will survive the future. And tripe like stoning women for not being virgins will pass in time forever. We continue our suffering by hanging onto the outdated. We need to move on.

Gord - we know that God can do whatever God wants to do. God probably simply said "Poof" and the animal skins appeared for Adam and Eve.
Well if you take away her magic wand I would think she would have a lot harder time with that task. How else would Adam and Eve get to the ball?

ask yourself why and go back to scripture to get your answer ----Genesis 3:21 gives you your answer and proof

I did. Stayed with Genesis 4: 3-5 and got a completely plausible and understandable answer. Bounced that off of several other scriptures speaking about sacrifice and the heart of the individuals bringing it. Leading me to conclude that the reason why Cain's sacrifice was not accepted was because of Cain's heart.

Genesis 3: 21 gives you your answer. It is the answer you want because it speaks neither to sacrifice nor to the distinction between Cain and Abel. Your interpretation is eisegetical (putting an idea into scripture) not exegetical (taking an idea from scripture).

And to be completely candid. It doesn't matter how many cut and paste's you provide affirming your notion. They completely and utterly fail to be convincing simply because of the violence that has to be done to texts and their meanings to force them to say what you desperately want them to say.

Were you aware that the source you share is Christadelphian? It took some time to discover that they aren't terribly forthcoming on the site you quoted from.

And besides, what's God going to do with a sacrificed animal or bounty from the fields?.........eat it?

which does not change the fact that the verse quoted says NOTHING about offering sacrifices, or about what kind is better, or about Cain v. Abel. For all we know the animals died of natural causes before being skinned. Or they were simply hunted. OR maybe they were the earliest residents of a slaughter house...
-- Hi Rev GordW-This Rev seems to fly in the face of GODS word The Bible. You see I am a Christain who believes I am saved through the Death and Blood of Jesus The Christ. Now this is not my Idea it is GODS . So you see From this I take it that the death and Blood, of one that has no sin is very inporten to GOD. That you as a Minster in a christain church do not see this. Seems a bit strange to me. Our GOD told the Israels how and what they were to sacrifice and when. As far as I can understand there were no dead animals though, that they were to go out and find and use. They did have to kill some animals though so as to obay GOD.

not knowing who the Christadelphian were , i looked it up and found this

wikipedia :

The Christadelphians are a millenarian Christian group who hold a view ofBiblical Unitarianism. The movement developed in the United Kingdom andNorth America in the 19th century around the teachings of John Thomas, who coined the name Christadelphian[1][2] from the Greek for "Brethren in Christ".[3][4][5]

Claiming to base their beliefs solely on the Bible, Christadelphians differ from mainstream Christianity in a number of doctrinal areas. For example, they reject the Trinity and the immortality of the soul, believing these to be corruptions of original Christian teaching.

They were initially found predominantly in the developed English-speaking world, but expanded in developing countries after the Second World War. There are estimated to be 60,000 Christadelphians in around 120 countries worldwide. Congregations are usually referred to as ecclesias.

GOOD morning Rev John---You ofcourse you know God tells later how priests should dress , and what they should do befor they come to the the alter of GOD. You will note one of these is to have the blood of an anaimal on them. You may read this in . Exodus 29: 19-21----Not to do so could mean your death, even as it is today. With out the Blood of Christ it could mean your death.Though out The Bible it is writen by GODS Hand we are saved. So He sent The Christ to do just that. By The Christ Jesus Blood and death are our souls saved.

I don't think that's true, for example :

Can God make a rock so big that even God Himself cannot lift it ?

things that make you go

hmmmmmmm

airclean...you do read what you post do you? I mean the plain English meaning of it? Without adding in other stuff so that it says what you want it to say?

Has anyone ever considered that the "coats of skins" were not literally animal skins but rather an atttempt to define the different layers of our physical constitution? E.g. "coats" such as our physical bodies, our emotional bodies, and our mental bodies? These are the physical "temples" through which the Soul need express itself.

I do.

Unless Cain and Abel are priests serving under Aaron it is an error to assume that they are bound by rules not yet created.

And of course, in that same later code there are allowances for grain offerings so again, insisting that it was a lack of blood sacrifice is what cause God to reject Cain is ignorant. I hope you noticed the several verses of Chapter 29 in which God calls for the finest wheat flour and olive oil. Its almost like God doesn't know that things of the earth are unacceptable sacrifices.

Airclean--This may well be John. But I believe nothing has happened for no reason.

Yes John is that not what Christ used to show His Apostles at the passover meal , what would His body to remind us of Him?

Like Pr. jae I find this post almost impossible to understand.

And the understanding I think I am getting doesn't connect to the conversation had so far.

Would you mind rephrasing your point?

Airclean-- Good Morning Rev John-- I will try this once more so you may understand. Adam as I believe was a son of GOD. Just as the secound Adam would be. So by line would his children. Those who are Sons of GOD, are of the high prists hood. As is the Sons of GOD today. 1Pet2:9.

As you can see in your own post you ask me if I noted God spoke of wheat and flour. I told you I not only did. But noted in 29--23 they were made into unleavened bread. There close by in verse you will see what GOD said to do with them. The prists were to take them and wave them.I believe this was ordered by GOD. Because it was not yet, time for them to eat them. For Christ had not yet come. And they were there to show the body of Christ. that GOD would send. As I stated John nothing is done for no reason. God Bless-- P-S I apologize for not making it a plainer post yesterday. But I was very busy and had little time.airclean33
