I am unsure of numbers either 8 or 12 and it will be at my house with traditional turkey and lots of vegetable and home-made cranberry sauce.
 
Ours will be a potluck dinner of "whatever". Everyone will bring something to contribute. I will probably bring some roast beef, scalloped potatoes and thinking about trying a pumpkin and spinach lasagne for my daughter the vegetarian. Never tried the recipe before. I believe my sister is bringing some turkey and my brothers wife will bring us a polish dish. My kids will surprise us. A cornucopia for our taste buds...should be interesting.
Maybe some potato and zucchini latkes for breakfast the next day.
 
We are invited to my daughter's place for a traditional turkey dinner. It will be on Monday because her children will be with their father on Sunday. We will eat early (3:30 or so) because we'll all have work or school (or rest that comes with retirement) the next day.
 
Not totally sure. As far as I know there will be turkey. Going to my in-laws for dinner and they have really changed they way they do things the last few years. Will also go to my parent's for dinner the day before, but I don't know if they are actually doing their Thanksgiving meal that day.
 
Never been as big a family day as Christmas in my family. This year, I leave for a conference in Tampa on Thanksgiving Day so anything we do to commemorate will happen earlier.

Same here although growing up it was always recognized. I think one year Chemguy and I skipped it as there was just too many other things we were dealing with.
 
We've been invited to a neighbour's house for turkey. We'll likely make some glazed carrots to take over and add to the feast.

We are now 26. Dinner at my sisters. I am bringing wine , beer, squash, sweet potatoes, peas. Others bringing other parts

In the past thanksgiving was a minimal family get together but now, some go south for the winter and others have trouble travelling so it has become the one holiday we all get together

My parents loved us to be together as afamily and we try to keep it going

I like Mendalla am travelling for work in the US, though I am leaving Sunday.
Thinking of having Thanksgving dinner on Friday. The boys want it as they love the feast, so will ensure we fit it in.
 
Anxious to hear from CH. Hope she is just upset about the weather in her location.

Hubby and I discussed Thanksgiving. We decided we'd wait and see if any of our kids invite us to eat with them. If not we'll make a regular meal at home for the two of us. Not a very big chance that we'll get an invite. One kid doesn't enjoy 'gatherings' (traumatic brain injury). One prefers to spend time with friends rather than family. One is probably spending the time with the in-laws. One lives too far away to get together.

Maybe the weather will be brill and we can go for a picnic.
 
I'm excited for the day when I have a big enough house to host people chez moi. 12 for Thanksgiving sounds perfect.
 
My folks are hosting it up north. Claire gets to spend a long weekend with Bella, and she is over the moon in anticipation. Turkey, etc. For me, my father will have a list of jobs he needs help with and we'll work together for stretches and try not to let our different approaches to problems (he's a carpenter, I'm an engineer) come between us. Will bring the bikes and see if Bella has any potential to be a trail dog, and if Claire has any potential to be a trail rider.
 
I'll be cooking the basics ~ turkey, potatoes, gravy etc. ~ for 17. Family will bring an assortment of no-meat, no-wheat, no-dairy options. There will be plenty of wine and pumpkin pie. The patriarch, 90 yrs, will sit at the head of the table and say grace. The youngest, 3weeks, will be slurping back the breast milk!
