Once upon a time there was a traveling rabbi on a journey to teach the word. As he approached the edge of a village he saw a sign that read “Welcome to The Land of the Trids.” He entered into town he didn’t see anyone. It was deserted. He kept walking until he got through town and suddenly he heard people yelling, cheering, and celebrating something in the distance. He saw these little people gathered at the bottom of a hill with a giant standing on top of it. One by one they were climbing the hill only to be kicked off by the giant and they’d go tumbling down while the others cheered them on. The rabbi asked one of them what was going on. The little man who seemed to be the mayor said, “It’s a tradition here that every year we gather here and have a contest. The one who makes it to the top without getting kicked off by the giant wins a prize!”That sounds like fun!” said the rabbi. “May I join in?” The mayor replied, “Silly rabbi, kicks are for trids!”
