I tend toward introversion. Find it easier to write than to speak. Partly, I think, that's because before I post, I can edit, reword, revise, etc. before I hit 'post.' If need be, I can cancel it altogether.
Stuff like that can't be done in speaking....
Yeah, I'm similar.

In person I prefer one on one or a small group to a large group.
Covid has certainly exaggerated that a bit. The first larger gathering I went to, a work BBQ felt a bit odd and took me a little bit to get into it. Some of the first people outside not carrying things back and forth weren't people I knew well which added to that.

As a kid I was shy, not so much anymore. Public speaking I don't really enjoy and I feel like I'm not the best at it. Naturally my voice is fairly quiet, it is an effort to project it. I don't dread doing it though like many people I know.

I belonged to a Toastmistress Club when I was in my twenties for a couple of years. It helped me a lot and we had some good fun together. I don't believe that organization exists any longer.

Toastmasters is still going strong as far as I know.

Imagine the myth of the mind then as an innate thing ... well contained by something non-existent and thus causing considerable friction between people that have a functioning mental device and those simply peering over an abyss as if it was a rapture of sort in local lure to suck in some meat to put there! It could break up one faction and sound like far off laughter because of the space resembling an obo ... deep really! Really an intuit item of a bad rube or rubbing ... raising some friction about what is virtue and what is simply virtual ... conjured?

Temporal drifters ... or high plains wanderers ... mezzo folk?

Very much an introvert but not shy. It's not difficult for me to interact with people, or even do a presentation, but I'm apt to let other people carry the conversation if they are inclined to.
I do enjoy small gatherings (depending), and meet regularly with friends, but I always need to recharge afterwards by being alone for awhile.
What makes me really nervous is being tested/evaluated on something while people are around (unless I'm confident of doing well). A full on panic. PTSD from school I expect. I have mild learning disabilities.

On one of those personality assessment things - Myers Briggs I think - I placed almost at the intersection of introvert/extrovert - which seemed about right. Can fall either way, depending on circumstance, but I think most often on the introvert side. I'll listen, figure out the context & people and then participate, or not. I was not a very confident kid. Going to summer camp & then working there was a game changer for me in that regard.

On the introvert/extrovert thing - I recall an interesting insight re decision making. Introverts will work things out in their head, then reach a decision and speak about it. By then they're often pretty 'married to' their position. Extroverts will talk aloud as they think about the pending decision - rambling around on the issue - the talking and listening helps them come to their eventual conclusion. So - you can imagine the 'misfit' of communication & frustration that might occur when an introvert & extrovert have to work together to make a decision.

Are in the head things deep and thus may create a head esteem? Thus powered the Cajon's arise ... once known as part of the Spanish bull games ... "S" dark ... mores BS!

Aye ... I don't know much either ... but I try!

Been there, done that, didn't want the t-shirt.

My relationship with our corporate controller is kind of like that. I like to work things out quietly in my head until I have a plan while she just keeps throwing stuff out to see what sticks. We've worked together for over twenty years and are friends, but watching us in action sometimes, you might wonder.

I usually try to understand the problem before working out a solution. I like having a starter proposal that can be changed or rejected.

Thus tossups in the mental pool ... sometimes called turbulence in the myth. What's the myth' ... but something beyond fixed position!

I work everything out in my head the way it makes sense to me, and my process seems so chaotic to others that I'm sure they worry I won't manage it. Then voila....complete and then some. Unless it's heavy work, I think I do best on my own. Bit of a control freak.
MTBI is INFJ. Sliding toward "T" and extremely "I".
