oh dear, Mendalla. Glad to hear no serious injuries.

On our front, for work, heard of two more people leaving, both are good friends. Not surprised, and given my plans, happy for them.

I am also thankful of those who have shared their stories on this thread of positive outcomes, etc for the results of abnormal paps I will be hospital tomorrow morning, and if not bumped for emergency surgery, will be there most of the day. Results will not be available until during the week.

My sister has started her journey to singapore/shanghai, and a friend is in singapore now. Though I would love to be there, and not be doing what I am doing tomorrow, I am thankful for a health care system that gets me in, and gets it done.

On other notes, my sugar management is going well. Numbers are looking good, and feeling good. Eye tests due to the results came back also good.

Visiting with my brother and we laughed about age, and the alternatives....we both agreed age and its health amendments are better than the alternatives..

Glad all is well and the accidents were just inconveniences with not lasting injuries to folks.
Pinga I'm glad your tests are tomorrow. Waiting is the hard part.
Hard to see your sister head off without you but you are doing what you need too.

Nasty accidents there Mendalla - shakes one up when such things happen ... hopefully all will mend well.

Just got our table & commission assignments for GC - I guess God is sending me a message about needing to improve my understanding of some world political issues, since that seems the main substance of my commission's topics. More reading to come for me.

On the family side of things - talked with my brother today. Last summer he got Bell's palsy, which did not resolve & he has some residual facial weakness/droop. Then last Sept diagnosed with advanced aggressive treatment resistant cancer. This week ... recurrence of Bell's palsy - on the OTHER side of his face. Sometimes you just say WTF. We're hoping the Bell's palsy might resolve this time, but who knows. He's in surprisingly good spirits - inspires us all with that. We'll be visiting at the end of August ... so looking forward to that. But really, WTF.

oh Carolla, your poor brother. Glad his spirits are up. Bells Palsy is not fun. Doesn't seem right that it should be added on top of everything else with which he is dealing. I am glad that you will be visiting him in August.

Mendella...Glad you and yours are okay. Those are the kinds of days one would rather avoid...if we had a choice. My sister got rammed from behind by a city dump truck last winter when stopped at a stop light. She had had her car for one week. Before that, she had a leased car that got smashed by a truck coming out of a parking lot. The truck practically landed on top of her little car. Worse, it was driven by an ex-boyfriend who didn't recognize her. But, if he couldn't see her car, I guess it's little wonder he didn't really look at her! Anyway, miracle of miracle, she was okay after both accidents, and the result....She has a couple of good stories to tell.

Mental defects ... lack of I'z? Then there ar ebuzy bodies for reason s that are real to them unreal to the alternates ...

To process this in neurological fatty acids? Some say there are no positive or negative essences that make up atomism .. and thus no bottom end to ID ... mother of god! such reality! Ever hear of positrons or negatrons ... dark energies?

Pinga, thinking of you today!

Mendalla, hopefully no one is too sore.

Carolla - never heard of anyone getting it twice, poor guy! Is he able to eat (as much as can considering the cancer) and communicate ok?

Yes chemgal - so far he's okay with eating; speech is slurred, but still pretty understandable -hopefully doesn't get worse. Their wedding anniversary was this week - so I said, oh man, I bet that was a sloppy kiss! LOL Puckering isn't too good at the moment!! Has to tape his eye closed at night & be really careful about putting drops in during the day. He just recently was able to stop taping his left eye at night ... which is good.

Apparently about 6-7% of people have a recurrence of Bell's palsy.

Hi folks, home from the hospital at 4:30pm or so. Arrived at the hospital at 7:45am; however, slated as emergency non-critical (or something like that), so, any emergency surgery went ahead. It was busy, so didn't go to OR until noon. Good thing that I took a book. Read it completely, and made progress into the 2nd one that i took. Don't remember an anesthesiologist being so attentive to me taking a lot of deep breaths of oxygen before going under before...not sure if that is due to asthma on my health record now, or if that is just his way. Either way, woke up a while later.....and, a lovely nurse gave me an orange popsicle. Felt like a little kid, but it was good. Cleared recovery at 2:15, and had to spend 2hrs in my room for observation/recovery/IV. Now to relax, nap, eat, drink coffee, and wait until next week for results.

Thinking of all that are sick ... some say a ego-centred trip. Is that abnormal in this world?

Saw a sign today that said the ego was the intimate best friend that knows an individual inside and out ... but an alter ego with differing interests ... strange right? Then there is the super ego that baffles people that don't believe in anything with larger concerns than what they have (subjectively)!

If ego is a sense of awareness ... how does self interest get trumped ... larger interests?
