Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

on another note, another coworker gave notice.
Your workplace sounds like a mass exodus. You just need a Moses figure and an inexplicably long period of time to wander what I assume might have to be southern Ontario farmland.

Over here, wife still preggers. Both of us still working, and doing well at our jobs, if extremely busy. Paycheques are nice. Looking forward to being more financially secure so we can start paying it forward for all the help we received. It's crazy when we think back to all the groups and hospitals who did everything they could for our son, and continue to work on behalf of other kids who are medically fragile.

Hi CHansen, yup...serious enough got summoned to an off-site meeting with CIO, CISO, VP, managers, leads to discuss strategies for both replacement and retention. Not fun.

Glad to hear things are ok with pregnancy, and jobs. The "dark thread" in the weave alters your understanding of community and society, I think...it did for us.

Heading out this afternoon. Dealign with some health concerns right now. An anxiety that just is there..

Pinga - thinking of you as you deal with health issues ... and work headaches that seem endless.

chansen - glad to hear things are going well for you and yours this summer ... it's time.

I had a nice skype chat with my daughter this evening ... we're both looking forward to spending a few days together next month

Always recall that life is temporary ... so don't take it too serious!

Given the passing nature do what you can while not killing yourself ... not much use to others then ... sort of a kin to that trumped up guise ... that some figure would make a great Republican President ... on the basis that he'd send all foreighners home to where they come from.

Does he know the implication for the First Nations ... who have been degraded to too small a group to efficiently manage the western wilderness that some call Am Eire A' Ka? "Ka" being the spirit ... "A" being like "san" ... "without" too much grit bean pounded?

It is said that humour and levity is good for the sole ... as it knows it goes on ... has to find another hiding face for ID's elf being humans would like to oppress thoughts ... and thus the Moses-like repression in the light of free will ... god awful!

Gross, or great po' ethics? Edgar Allen liked ID ... creative in regarding huge myths and mystery for a population that didn't wish to know ... Foggy Island Syndrome?

Well, at least senior leadership is coming to the table. I guess that is validation of the concerns.

Nancy, I think I must be forgetting to mention joys.

ps. @crazyheart , we were getting a new roof ( a metal roof, so they were there for two whole days and not done yet).. I thought of you. Of course, most were shirtless.

De Lilah hacked off Sam'son's tresses ... by diversionary means ... purely senseless release?

Hoo dah th'unque ID ... as abstraction from the absolute?

I have an exciting trip planned....meeting up with two university friends for a holiday. We haven't seen each other for over 30 years, and one lives on one side of the country, one on the other, so we are meeting in the middle...Ontario (where they have family to visit also). We are spending 3 days together at Stratford. We used to be social activists together. I wonder what mischief we will get into this weekend.

An ex-coworker posted a photo of him & his family with Governor Walker, supporting him for President.
Well, my response of surprise led to a dialogue with some dude which reminded me of the early days of wondercafe.
Post full of hate and presumptions. The homosexual agenda will result in no births.....and it went on.
Not sure how the person whose page the dialogue is occurring on will react; however, it is a reminder of how different Canada is, how different my circles are, and how far many people in the US are from us, still.

@Nancy ... I wonder if the amazing toy store is still in Stratford - it was one of my favourite places to while away an hour when visiting that town! Hope you have a good visit - and good weather for strolling, picnicing etc. Are you seeing a play?

Thanks Pinga and Carolla. Yes, we're seeing two plays and doing some tours as well. I'll look for the toy store because I have a baby gift to buy. I actually hate shopping unless there is something very specific I need to buy. And my baby great nephew will be in town for a month, so I decided that I would buy his baby/baptism gift while I'm on holiday.

I was able to join my sisters for a 4 day trip to Quadra Island-off the north end of Vancouver Island. One lives in Ontario and one lives in Victoria so the 3 of us seldom gather. It was I think the first time for just the 3 of us in many years-no kids or spouses. It was a good time and great to reconnect.

Grrr ... they're digging up my street again ... removed all the sidewalk today& will do the curbs first, then the road. I have a garden that nestles right up to the sidewalk, so this evening I had to go move a huge columbine & a few other things ... hopefully they will survive. Two years ago neighbours across the road were under construction with a big addition & reno; last year our water & sewer mains got replaced; and now for the third summer in a row we will have more dirt & noise. To top it off, there were trucks delivering supplies to the LCBO store nearby - going to be redoing the roof - so more noise and the stench of asphalt will be prominent. Well ... at least with all of it going on simultaneously, perhaps it will be a shorter period of disruption. I love having all my windows open in the summer ... but that will not be the case for a while. I sound grouchy ... I am! But going out after work with womenfriends to see Inside Out tomorrow - looking forward to that!

Carolla, I would be grouchy too! I've lived with construction, but never the sidewalk right in front of the house. As a kid I loved 'cupcake land' the big surveyor's mound right across the street. It did get noisy at times and it was messy. So much dirt blew in the windows for the first few years there.
Now, it's a school technically on our street, but it's around the corner. I think we get a bit more dirt in the air and I can hear the trucks but so far it's barely noticeable.
