Air quality index here is down to 5 (yay) but there's still a yellow alert suggesting it could go back up again (boo). And, yes, being happy about a 5, which is still "Mid" is not my usual but after 3 days of 8-10+, I'll take it.

And what a load of crepes. ;) I'll have one with a cup of English Breakfast tea.

Here, we've got an 80% change of showers this afternoon with a risk of thunderstorms so crossing fingers. Would probably help clear the air some more, too.
 
We got dumped on this morning. I enjoyed my Saturday morning lie-in to the sounds of heavy rain and thunder. Hasn't done too much for the air quality yet, but I've got some windows and doors open to air out the house anyway.
 
Anyone read the report about narcissist manager and the disposal of remote work?

One seems to see the leaning towards absolutes and away from anything abstract and productive!

Of course nothing is perfect ... other than the narcissist ... thus narcissi takes us down int the end unless you don't believe it'll ever end ... because it needs a pain for response ...

Question is; which is the pain, the earthy Gods or that thing beyond belief? I ponder escapism ... a grand waterhole ...
 
We are out for lunch and got a heavy shower. Seems to have eased off which is good since we are probably leaving soon and didn't bring the umbrella from the car in with us.
 
Good morning! Air quality here right now isn't great, but a lot better than yesterday and Friday. Tmperature has calmed down too. Hope your air quality is improving as well.
We gather round the Coffee Cart to chat, support, and connect, over coffee and tea. The Wonderbaker has been busy, providing us with croissants, with varied spreads and toppings, to indulge in. The coffee is freshbrewed, the tea water is boiling, and croissants are at their warm, flaky best. All is ready, and everyone is welcome. Come join the fun!

Had a musical gathering yesterday as we collected thoughts on somethings that can't be comprehended ... like unending avarice ... and thus ballads evolve ... voice emptied as if well seeded ... and planted where travels gouged a way ... de ire moveth ... if you can figure on how it occurred ... you might be drawn out and into the rest of what's unknown ... the God Game on knock outs ... and another resteth ... waiting for sunrise ... something more to sell? Rights to daze ... all in a flash of the unknown passing ... nodes? Bunched up air ... thick places followed by the other thin air? Consumption ...

I've observe this happens when cultivating flames instead of embers ... somethings bust ... contents scatter as in dissemination ... de seeding and coupled descension as one rises a shadow forms ... getting under the direct over tete ... suggesting tete a tete between the extremes ... relations of humming notion! Thus that long lasting buzz about pas Zion ... and bloodletting with sharps and whetting attitudes ... ongoing stories about activities that are difficult to explain ... leaving one at a loss ... divided?

Yellow air quality alert was lifted this morning but they are still calling it to hit 6 (Moderate) today, then down to saner levels tomorrow. But the worst seems to be over, at least here. In fact, the weather looks decent for today. Sunny and only 24, so back into my comfort zone. Now wrestling with what I am going to write on my week off. I have two stories that I could keep plugging away at plus a competition I could write for and now even have an idea for. Decisions, decisions. :giggle:
 
Housework done. Weather seems nice. AQ is holding at 3 and not expected to go above 4, which is pretty normal around here in summer. So I'm thinking of a walk this afternoon. We shall see.
 
Last communion for the summer today. Friend came over for brunch. Found a dress for upcoming wedding. FIFA final was fine, and the orange menace behaved ok. Tandoori chicken not spicy enough.

I wonder if the climate and the cuisine of countries relate. India eats spicy- does this help with dealing with heat? Or was that in the past times without fridge that spices helped preserve food from spoiling?
Does eating spicy have any advantage in hot weather?
Not sure what people in Arabian countries eat- do they tend to spicy as well?
 
Good morning! How is everyone? What a weekend. The World Cup won by Spain, in extra time; Mr. Trump still managing to be a nuisance during their trophy celebration; air quality seems to be better this morning. How did your weekend go?
We gather in spirit round the Coffee Cart, to converse, to support, and to connect, as well as have tea and coffee, and enjoy the efforts of our Wonderbaker. Today, the Wonderbaker has prepared cinnamon buns for us to indulge in. The tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbrewed, and the buns are soft and warm from the oven. Are we suggesting full socialization here without rejection of various alien topics? Wrapping bad NU's in shrouds because of some organized beliefs that will not allow things beyond those inhibitions ... alas voids appear to be difficult to miss ...

Can you imagine the means and methods of archaic languages to be confusing to those not wishing to know anything from the past ... there are people that bury themselves in such etudes ... I delve in it just as a past-time as much of the present nonsense I find trying ... wars, bombs and tariffs on uncontrollable smokers? Pole Kas ... and other relating dances ... some in 10 ah see ... north of Stone Mountain as fixed ... they put a cross up there!

Repeating that old English myth ... of delving into the hard stuff ... driving the ire in home ... what do we really know about languishing matter ... can a' mote do that to the powers ... setting them in a puddle?

Are you often baffled by the barriers to us knowing a great deal ... because of the theory about what what we don't need to know?

I was told that several times about church business and now that the knowledge is required it isn't there because of some sense of destruction ... how it goes I wasn't allowed to observe ... it makes both me and my shadow character a bit cynical about each part ...

Koreans eat a lot of spicy food. While sweating from spice gives a temporary cooling sensation, the deeper historical reason's food safety. Spices helped preserve food before refrigeration. Still today in Korea, spicy dishes are popular, especially in the hot, humid summer, often paired with cold or fermented foods like kimchi or spicy cold noodles to balance heat and digestion
 
Kimchi. Mmmmmmm. I mean, it's basically spicy sauerkraut made with nappa (Chinese name) instead of Western cabbage but quite yummy to my tastebuds. Korea has good food, really.

To be honest, neither am I. The modern Middle Eastern food we get around here is more from the Mediterranean basin and heavily Turk-influenced (donair and shawarma are, in the end, basically the same stuff) so I cannot say that I have ever had actual Arab food. I used to know a Saudi immigrant (he worked for me for a couple years) but we've lost touch.

South Asian cultures in Pakistan and India are renowned for their spicy food so there's another one to consider. Thai food in SE Asia, too. My Pakistani daughter-in-law orders maximum spice when we have Thai (the Thai place near us uses halal meat so is "safe" for them) and complains it is still not hot enough.
