So this was from December. Now the dryer is not heating up again.I know you're all eager to learn how this cliffhanger ended.
The parts came, I took the dryer apart, replaced the belt, decided the rollers were fine and put it back together.
And it worked.
Sorry to bore you.
Hey, I kept these things out of the landfill and metal recycling for another year at least.
WE had that once and it turned out that the 220 outlet had failed so the dryer was only getting half the power. Luckily I knew an electrician from the church who came to swap it outSo this was from December. Now the dryer is not heating up again.
And the heating element is fine. As is the thermal fuse near the element.
Augh.
Might be the end of the road.
Two hours sounds manageable to me- our patients wait at least 3-5 hours.Part of it is , that the anesthetist serving our pre op clinic is also on call for epidurals and other emergencies in the hospital. And often those babies come without appointments! We do have patients having a three hour drive from home- so that is a long day for them. Thankfully we have an overnight place run mostly by volunteers that changes $40 the night.Pre-op appointment today…will take at least two hours. The waffles and tea should sustain me Red! Thanks.
Several people have spotted Canada geese a bit further south in this province. Won; be long before we see them too. They're baaaaaack!
Who's back, you ask?
I just saw a robin in the tree outside my home office window.![]()
Those keeping score can rest easy that the broken wire was at a connection and has been mended. Couldn't find a compatible connector so I managed to reuse the old one and solder the original crimp style blade connector back on the shortened wire. You really shouldn't reuse a crimped connector, but the solder should help hold it and make a better connection.Nope. Burnt wire to the element. Now why did the wire burn and not trip a fuse? Another ugh.

Dryer works again. It gets a side eye every time I walk by now. I trust it and the washer like I trusted my 98 Mercury Mystique.
