Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

Good morning! Happy February! January was full of deep snow and nonfunctioning snowblowers, it seems. Hopefully this month will be less hectic! Anyway, the due date for Spring is that much closer.
We gather once again around the Coffee Cart. for coffee, tea and snacks; as well as for conversation, support, and community. This morning, the Wonderbaker has produced a big pan of Cherries Jubilee for us to enjoy.
The tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbewed, and the Jubilee is at the perfect temperature. All is ready, you are all warmly welcome. Come join us!

I'm told not to buy into it ... I'm directed to leave by demand ... I'm outered ... because of questions and interest!

Quite a fabric ... no?

Snow blower troubles- I hardly use mine , only if heavy snow.

We've had a bizarre number of cm, like 300, since November. 3 metres is 12 feet of snow, We've had a bit of melt, but crazy, and very hard to keep maintained.

New devotee of "flashfood". Yesterday, I picked. up a $5 produce box (items were a bit stale or misshapen, but all useable): 5 grapefruit, 6 lemon, a dozen or so apples 3 different varieties, 4 navel oranges, 4 long eggplants, 2 zucchini). I have been craving grapefruit {but at $2.50 each resisting).

Just back from eating out and shopping. It's actually not bad. Cold but better than it has been. Not too much wind chill. And the major streets are finally clear in most places. So still winter, but the tolerable kind. Light snow tomorrow, though, so might be heading back to the less tolerable kind.

Weather is bazaar ... can be more flippant than politicians when faced with capital ... they start with nothing ... then!

Good morning! Happy Monday! Hoping that the weather rodents will bring some optimism to us today, as they will see no shadows today. Anyway we gather again around the Coffee Cart, for conversation, support, and camaraderie, over coffee, tea, and baked snacks. This morning, we have snickerdoodles to enjoy from the Wonderbaker. The tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed, and the snickerdoodles are warm and fresh. All is ready and waiting, and you are invited. Come join us, and bring your hopes for an early Spring!

Babies are so talented at sharing their bugs
Amen. Once they hit daycare, they are basically living in germ farms until high school. Been there, done that. Even with full immunization, you've still got things like colds that don't have a vaccine yet. And probably some other bugs like RSV used to be that aren't really even well-known or maybe even identified yet but are kicking around. I don't think I had heard of that one until a few years ago but it's likely something that we had at some point. We would have thought it was a flu or cold given the symptoms.

Good morning! Glad to know the grandchild is over the bug, we do hope that Oma gets over hers, too. Good to know the Toastmasters Club is going well, not just as a skiing coach, but as able to pass on life skills for vehicles too. May many good things happen today as well!

We gather once again in the Room, around the Coffee Cart, for tea, coffee, and snacks, as well as conversation and support. Today the Wonderbaker has made cinnamon buns for us to enjoy as we sip and chat. The tea water is boiling, and the coffee is fresh brewed; the buns are warm and soft. All is ready, everyone welcome. Come in and join the fun!

Like Circe ... this mysterious woman went around turning men into animals ... imagine ... even a sty-El of swine ...

She is re iterated in the myth of Maria Lave au ... demands some assembly! The gathering at the river ... wha Terres (tares) through the land as decent flow ... in various shades ... red, yellow, white and Nash ... Crows bi there ... we ides?

What did God have to do with Honky Tonk? Maybe a ton que ... and there it crashed with a'tunk in the night! Tango ... mother-of- ... ___ and many demonstrations!

Shooting blanks? Void spots ... nothing to eM!

@chansen is a superstar. Big guy tells me he can teach me to change oil and blames sister lololol.
What? For the burnt, half filled oil? Everyone's snowblower and lawnmower has oil like that. Just saying, if you replace it, it'll last longer. The good news is, I didn't see sparkly bits in it. Yay.

I've never done that job before. Now I know how. And that I should have brought a can of silicone spray because the belt isnt always completely disengaging when you let go of the handle. Be careful with that until the belt relaxes a bit and disengages the auger every time you let go.

We can face winter. again.
I want to make a joke, but to be fair, Barrie has been slammed.

Every time I open up the Weather Network's map, it's like God's middle finger is extended toward you guys.

This happens down east too ... this year NS is getting it all ... I wonder who needs the water more?

It is claimed that there is a huge primitive freshwater reservoir off Nantucket ... there will be an investment rush ... cool and clear? Dan is involved ...

I love the helper vibes. My husband turned 75 and we partied for a few days...four cakes!!! Today, he says he is suffering the worst indigestion of his life. Mmmm....maybe four cakes was a bit too much.

Hope he feels better soon. Older bodies don't seem to like changes in diet. The mouths enjoy cake though.

Second week in a row I have had to postpone a meeting because of foul weather in NL. We are working on a project with some guys out there and they have young kids so every time the schools are impacted, they need the meetings moved. Lovely when winter somewhere else messes up your life, eh

Good morning. In other news, my sister-in-law (middle brother's wife) died suddenly in her early 50s on the weekend. Two kids, both grown and one married but no grands yet. Eerily reminiscent of Mom. So I have a funeral to attend next week. I'm too young to be losing family members younger than me. This is the conservative, evangelical brother so might have to grit my teeth a bit. Oddly, the last time I was in their church was for her father's funeral.

Sorry to hear about your sister in law....she was so young and a sudden death often leaves the family unprepared.
Hugs.
