Son and his family are still here but heading out to a friend's place to bring in the New Year. They may bring the kids back early and I can monitor them while they sleep. What did we parents ever do before we had monitors? Anyway, it's been fun having a 2 year old and a 4 year old to play with. Their imaginations are keeping me on my toes. And bringing back memories of the fun I had as an elementary school teacher. And the energy I needed! Lots of snow here and I am dreaming of/praying for a January thaw. The snow banks make every corner feel like a game of Russian roulette as you inch out onto the connecting road.

Missed the welcoming of the New Year. Instead we opted to fall into bed at 9.30 tired out from an afternoon of family time. Two people plan to arrive today . I predict things will be quieter than yesterday.

My goal in life, I've decided, is to singlehandedly rehabilitate the reputation of pickup truck drivers. I am courteous, I leave space, I dont tailgate, etc.

I'm not succeeding. There are too many Ram truck drivers.
