Room For All

Christmas has really changed over the years for us. . It was great fun when we had four little kids who appreciated the magic. . When grandkids came over to our house for a meal and more gifts it was fun too. .

Since COVUD the magic and family vibes have drastically changed. Adult kids do the big meal with their own kids..

For several years now we have spent the day as an old couple. The adult kids decided No Gifts, which sucked much of the joy out. .
We will put out a few cherished decorations, make a nice meal and try to be cheerful. The Alberta branch of the family will probably phone so we will get to hear some excitement from the Great grands which is always a pleasure.
You could spoil each other rotten. That might be fun!

The holiday is based completely around skiing for us and has been since 1977. My daughter and I will coach from the 27th through the 4th. Zach will be one of Claire's athletes. Mine, too, if the head coach can't go. Still no word from him. We're hoping for the best.

We drive up on Christmas day. If we're there the weekend before, we go down for a couple of days and back up, just to give my parents a break.

Honestly looking forward to it more than ever. We haven't had much time with Claire since September. This will be nice. And maybe I get to work on her coaching with her, though that would mean the head coach is too sick to work.

Culturally, Christmas has always been a big deal to us. It means skiing and family to me.

That's a lovely tradition!

We have an artificial Christmas tree that has been a solo chore for me over the last few years. It is falling apart and I needed to think about replacing it. Today I bought a live baby blue spruce in a pot. The goal is to keep it alive until spring so we can plant it outside. I read “Our Green Heart” which increased my already healthy appreciation of trees.

Our artificial tree is dying as well. It's losing lots of plastic needles every year. Looked at replacing it with a costco artificial tree, but those suckers are expensive.

Two years ago I cut down an older 30ft tree so we used the top 7ft (last bit still green) as our tree. That was a mess as well. I hate the idea of cutting down an immature tree.

Once the artificial goes it is ... naturally all downhill from there ... so it seems as I look back thro' near 80 years (Semitic yANs).

Yu' all concerned? That's a bother eh! Thus we just poke away at/thro' time ... dark project! What happens next; we don't know ... but there are powerful speculations!

Expect lay-out's as many will throw substance at you to see if ya' all will buy it ... capital eh?

Some don't bother much at all ... grin-Ching! Should Ching's be examined as they wing it ...

Good Monday morning!! Seems that Christmas is coming; lights on houses and in trees are beginning to show up in this neighbourhood. I'll be setting up my tree this week sometime, and do some decorating. Whether the tree is artificial, or real, may the joy it represents bring us joy as well.
We gather round the Coffee Cart with lots to chat about; we also offer and receive moral support, and connect anew with one another, over tea, coffee, and baked goodies. Today the baker has created cookies of various types, including one that we called 'snickerdoodles' in my youth. The tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed, and cookies are warm from the baker. All is ready, everyone welcome. Come join the conversations!

In some traditions it is called Denali ... when some light traveller is tucked into a cave tunnel or some other dwelling place ... some let it rest ... some don't! They could pile up ... the essence of Montague? It is kind of gu'y and tacky ... a messy activity in which some fall right off ... disseminated? Be carful about the edge ... it is a downer or down ease ... can one get up after?

Its a thick situation that clouds the way ... it'S Ali or maybe just salient ...

Make notes ... start a notebook ... let it stand as a medium! Since mortal neurology can't take it ... that's writ!

It sometimes circulates underground ... like partisan --- some author! Illegitimate Canon ... sputtered instead of spit out?

I am home after a time at five oaks.

@Northwind , I thought of you and our woman to woman community as I offered Be Like A Bird in sharing circle.

Last night, i wrote the following as part of my reflection

As I listened to the women’s voices, I felt the familiar rhythm of Five Oaks come alive again—the way our hurts, hopes, and questions are offered, received, and gently held within a larger community. This place has always been more than buildings and trails; it’s a loom where individual threads become something stronger together.

And this morning, I think, it's like room for all

Is it the solid Canon or the Bull that is painful? Should something be more fluid? Tis the stuff of sol I'm told by some old folk of classic nature ... yup Ur!

Chanson they might still have some pretty nice used artificial trees at the Restore. Not sure if they'll be picked over yet., but your money spent goes toward building a house for some families that can't afford it.

Sometimes dicey trees can leave you stumped by the deal!

Boss Gibson; Fredericton area "burger" declared stems of trees great deals! That be the shaft of the plant ... be careful of what falls out of it! Other great powers worship "deals" ... thus word-encompassing bother! Some words really bug folk ... and thus some franc demands ... often about leaving them upright! That's ET ... beaver may have ET it before you approached the area ... after that formation of a pool ... quite black even ...

I'm thankful for @GordW s post but saddened by it.

Drawing people's attention to it:in memorium.

I'm setting up the room with cushions and kleenex..
I'm out but will pop in when I can
