Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

Oo, macaroons. And mystery cookies just appeared in the IT area at work (our HR manager, whose office is also in this part of the building, says they "fell from the ceiling"). The goodies are coming thick and fast. My glucometer is weeping.

Good morning! Happy Friday! Appreciation of macaroons, visit from a grandchild, a cold in the making, leaky tire to be dealt with, and all the other things that arise come with us, as we gather in peace around the Coffee Cart to discuss the day's topics, offer and receive support, and connect with each other. Oh, yes, the coffee and tea to drink. Plus some sort of goodies-- today we offer Nanaimo Bars, fresh from the bakery to indulge in. The tea water is boiling, coffee freshbrewed, and bars nicely warm. All are welcome, and all is ready. Come join the fun!

Nanaimo Bars always sounds like a place to get a beer in Nanaimo, BC. But they are delicious.

So my eyeroll of the day. I went into a system we manage to reset a user's account, only to discover that my account needs to be reset. So now I'm waiting for the other guy with admin rights in that system to come in so he can fix both of us.

Also, I just met another admin on Xenforo's forums who has a story almost identical to Wondercafe2's. A site shut down and a group of the members spun up a replacement using Xenforo. Happened just last year, apparently. So we are not unique (in our history, we certainly are in other respects). I sent congratulations, needless to say.

You need cyberark to manage PA accounts

Alas, this is an antique system used by home care agencies that should have been kicked out the door years ago. We have contracts with some of those agencies so have no choice but to use it. It still had a notice about no longer supporting IE 9 until fairly recently (in spite of the fact that IE 11 was the final release of IE, something I did point out to my contacts at the government team supporting the system).

Does every spinoff carry some of the unappreciated and misunderstood natural base with it ... as if nothing is perfect not things that are something?

Thus I shall eventually disperse for recycle ... sometimes known as disseminating ... as an outsider ... orphan?

In every new concoction a remnant of the old so the same old incarnations because we despise the philosophy of knowledge as we learn it best to get out at some time in the cycle ... midst life crisis?

We say relax and forget but some things form part of PTSD ... a tense situation in the quantum field ... not really applied to firm mathematical logic ... as including irrationality! Complex app. of life ... cannot be solved! Thus transference and transcendence ... the edifice floc rejects anything beyond ... yet a hole in the shrine roof to let the smoke out ... expect down drafts ... allows the thorn to fall as Peter's Prin. it projects ... of things up there mostly unresolved but powerful ...

Mystery is a great driver as declared by Joseph Campbell ... like a script as prone to inquiry! Set one partisan against the alternate ... yet pared down cause of the heat in that horse ... it had to go ... like silver over the horizon ...

What would we do if all was known ... somebody would be ugly ... because they discovered something they didn't know ... theme of imperfection in reality ... often denied by psychopaths that don't know they are dark in essence ...

I remember an association with retired MS Engineers (originals) that spoke of the lacking knowledge of the base language that we were trained on in the 60's ... 70's? So much lost without knowing the consequence ... thus wisdom that is out there now ... lost Arc?

Is it pragmatic in the ultimate hands? Bigodds ... extensive and dicey ... I'm told I speak of stretches of psyche ... snappy as a stretch of mind?

So I have to wait until Tuesday to hear from my doctor about my scans. He's off today. I will be able to see the reports on the portal on the 31st so will probably look. I prefer to hear first. I need to know

The waiting can be challenging, especially if you have a reason for concern. Sending strength your way.

I was unable to make an appt with my doc to get my results until October! So I took an alternative route that has 'a' doc phone to chat. So I heard that the scan showed no change from the previous one. Neither of us have a memory of that previous one. I was asked how I broke my back some years ago. Total news to me despite repeated x rays and scans most of my adult life. Oh well - nothing to be concerned about.

I'm glad to hear all was well Kay.

I'm at treatment now. My doctor has been off this week so he's forgiven.

I have no difficulty accepting my doc having time off. I just wish we had a full slate of good docs. Last I heard we had eight but need fourteen to provide good coverage. Some of the eight aren't highly regarded by some patients. Someone told me they went to the ER and learned which doc was working. They walked out and drove to the next hospital over - an hour away. It wasn't a heart attack but definitely needed attention.

It would help if the person answering the phone didn't sound so cheerful when saying you can't make an appt with your doc until October.

We had that issue up north. We used to have a good group of doctors. The new hospital was built and many left due to a poor work environment. We had no access to medical care for the last few years we lived there. You could only go to the walk in if you had a doctor in that clinic. They had an "orphaned patients" clinic and if you wanted to see a doctor there, you had to line up super early. It was nuts.

So I was baby sitting yesterday. Baby wasn’t that much of a problem - she is working on flipping herself now- a bit delayed because of the brace she had to wear before for her hip dysplasia. We had lots of belly time and she is trying to get on her knees, too. My brother had made her a wooden rattle with her name on it ( he does wood turning very beautifully) which she can now grab and shake.
When I put the baby to bed upstairs, the puppy come briefly upstairs , then disappeared back down. I discovered she had pooped on the carpet in the hallway an when I let her out, she had the rattle in her mouth, chewing on it. It followed a chase - which the puppy felt was fun, to get the rattle….I lost.
The rattle is a write-off….will need to ask my brother to make another one that will go right into her keepsake box…
The puppy is more work than the baby…
I had no problem to sit one or the other, both are a bit much…

Good morning! Resetting account, finding out we are not alone (in using Xenforo to extend the life of an online community), waiting through a holiday weekend to find out test results, being able to use a doc phone, and frustration over understaffing, watching over a baby and a puppy, and all the other things that make up this wonder we call life; it comes with us to the Coffee Cart for conversation, support, and connection, over tea, coffee, and assorted cookies from the bakery. The cookies are nicely arrayed, the tea water is boiling, and the coffee freshbrewed. All is ready, all are welcome. Come on in and join us! Oh yes, Happy 3-day weekend to those who have one!

Went to visit a gravesite yesterday and had trouble finding it. I was there four years ago for the funeral but it was a winter day with a heavy cover of snow.

Called the office and a staff member drove out to help us find it. Unbelievable public service!

Prospect Cemetery in Toronto. This was not my first favorable interaction with cemetery staff.

Now that I think about it, I have found very helpful staff in person or on the phone at three different cemeteries here in Toronto.

Woke up to my Fitbit alerting me to an elevated heart rate. First time that i was aware since my incident.
It went off twice over night.
I'm thinking it was due to our having gone out for a fabulous meal, and I had more sugar in both alcohol and food than I have had in months.
Going to record it, but, glad that my heart seemed to be able to be brought into control on its own this time.

Today I have spent the morning prepping for a group that i am hosting to do 100 days of creativity.
Hoping that the themes will work, and that folks will enjoy. I have a dozen joined to it, so that is cool.
The prep is to find photos/images and to have text that will give an idea to launch from. They don't need to use it, any creativity is good.

Back from cutting the grass and doing some weeding. Perfect weather here right now. Supposed to hit 27 by Tuesday, then cool off again. Definitely getting late summer here.

It's a lovely lazy day with a book. A cool breeze is coming through the window. The recliner is comfy and the book excellent. A friend stopped by for a visit and chat. Hubby is off helping friends move their trailer. My treatment was yesterday. I feel not bad as long as I don't do much.
