ps. the blender is here if anyone wants a smoothy. Lots of frozen fruit, protein powder, yogurt and milk available. Tasty & nutritious.

I was surprised when I started measuring my protein. With age, and reduced muscle mass, it seems we need more protein in our diet.

Anyhow, the one I have just tastes like vanilla. I put a scoop in yogurt, smoothies, even ice cream.

Vanilla flavor sounds good.

I eat what is considered a high protein diet for a diabetic. Unlike 30 years ago, this is now recommended. To me it just seems like normal eating.

Good news, indeed. Not supposed to rain here but it is kind of cloudy this afternoon so who knows.

Dry dry dry here, but I vacuumed the fish tank this morning, so everyone outside got a treat. Mixed a bit of epsom salts with the fish water and did the special herbs, the roses and the tomatoes.

Also made homemade hummus this morning, and it's rather awesome. Tried cooking the chickpeas in the InstantPot which I rarely use and barely understand, but they came out silky soft.

Good Saturday morning! Smoothies with or without protein powder, weather patterns, housework and hummus, and all the other things that come up come with us to the Coffee Cart. He, we discuss, support, enjoy humour, and connect with one another over coffee, tea and snacks This morning we have various squares and brownies to enjoy; and someone has provided a fruit tray with dip. The tea water is boiling, coffee done brewing, and squares and fruit nicely arrayed. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join the fun!

Protein is good ... thus self consumption ... we disappear among ourselves ... result? This we know nothing of ...

Yet there are vast claims! Believable? Leads to immortal questions and vast interpretations that are off there ...

Good morning. The family gathering where we get to meet Mr Northwind's cousins has been moved from the city in the fire zone to the city where we live. That's cool because I get to get together with my cancer lady friends, and go to the BBQ. :)

We got rain yesterday and apparently that helped the monster fire. Rain is in the forecast for at least this morning.

The coffee and goodies are lovely.

Reconnected with a coworker from the heyday of our IT department back in the 80's. From that came a suggestion to have a gathering. Reached out to a few folks, and it looks like there is more interest in doing so I think that there were 30-40 of us -- all full time employees - most of us in our 20's, or early 30's. Now to find everyone!

OMG, what a different world than mine. I was a one man show at the library and at my current job for the first 8 years. Even now, there's only 8 of us including me (we are hiring our current co-op back after graduation so I get to count him now) plus a few who've come and gone over the years.

It didn't stay that way for long, but, at the time it was wild & fun.
There were massive technology advances, including some big physical items: shipping carousel, Salvagnini sheet metal manufacturing cell, transition to PC's, installation of network, creation of a new sealed computer room and development of software packages for product design.
Went from one PC in '86 to a network of corporate PC's by 92.
(I helped on an ERP implementation in mid 80's when in Cost accounting, joined IT in 1988, and we moved from S/38 to AS/400 )

LOL. My first big project on my current job after dealing with Y2K (I started in June 1999, do the math) was implementing a new ERP. They were running an old version of Accpac for DOS, we replaced it with what was then called Great Plains Dynamics (now called Microsoft Dynamics GP). We are still running it and it is becoming less and less sustainable with time but other projects need to go first before we can replace it.

Good morning! Happy Sunday! Remembering IT workplaces in years past, family gatherings with stories and laughter, immortal questions, and all the other things that rise up; it comes with us to the Coffee Cart. Here we chat, support, connect, share the occasional laugh or tear, and drink coffee and tea. Today we have coffeecake to enjoy. The cake is warm from the bakery, tea water boiling, and coffee freshbrewed. Come in and join the conversations!

We are having a delightful rain this morning. My gardens will be happy.

I've got some egg bites that I can contribute. These have sun dried tomatoes, green onions, and spinach. Quite tasty. Just pop them into the microwave for 20 seconds.

I've been avoiding doing my financials. Do I read a book or do QuickBooks. I know the right answer. Have to refill the pill case first
