New elevator shaft in existing office building. We priced it based on subcontractors doing most of the heavy lifting, like cutting the concrete slabs and excavating, forming and pouring the elevator pit. But they're charging a lot, and I can do this work. I think I'm gonna do the cutting with a crew we can get from a contractor friendly with us, and have them dig the pit. I can form up the pit and install the rebar with a guy. The same crew can pour it. I stand to save/keep a decent amount of money. I could do better than last year in less than 4 weeks. That would help a lot. My wife does well at Magna but I'm staring at retirement and helping Claire and then Zach get established.

Feeling bad for "under the weather". Do not waft it here; I do not have time. Had the young lady here for 1 1/2 hr today; front windows are clean and bathroom finished, on the down side, found a small stash of unsorted books downstairs and a rather large stash of re-usable bags.

Went to visit my old neighbour yesterday. She wasn’t doing well, physically and mentally. She was about to eat the lunch that was still sitting on the table from 11.30- it was 6 now- so I prevented some food poisoning…
Made her supper which she wolfed down- then took her to the music event in the house, where she started having belly ache ( probably had not eaten anything but cookies before that meal). Settled her back on the couch with a hot water bottle, which seemed to do the trick. The in-house nurse was going to come later to check on her. The other day, when she was in a better state, our conversation was about any plans for where she and her husband want to be buried and if she wants a casket or be cremated. She never had thought about it- she is going to be 95 this year. Amazing, how people can just ignore the fact that we are not living forever. I thought I explore the theme just to see if her daughter could have it a bit easier- but nope, it’s not on her radar. Poor daughter will be stuck with a hoarder-cluttered two bedroom apartment and a storage unit plus organizing the funeral and everything. She hasn’t even had time yet to bury her own son who died in a car accident over a year ago.

Time ... what a wasted, if not prodigal gift, that many don't even take note of ... (good theme ... notebook)!

And the Zombies declare I'm the insane one ... then some are purely disturbed and destabilize the entire globe ...

Good morning, all! The Coffee Cart is once again u and running. Today we bring knitting machines, having to put down a dog that has brought companionship to a number of people, cleaning out and finding reusable bags and things, the current bug going around, elevator shafts, visits with elderly neighbours, and all the other stuff that comes up with us to the table, where we chat and support, over coffee, tea, and crumpets. The coffee is fresh brewed, tea water boiling merrily, and crumpets are warm from the bakery. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join in the conversations!

How to be carrion all this about? Thus Snoopy as a Condor ... dogs find it difficult learn anu because of the stinks they've entrained ... in front of the hob they relax ... thus the out house ... many males get placed there ... waiting for the bell ringers ... the toll it takes!

Thank you. I'll join in the fun of a Camuccino and a Chocolate Croissant

Is chaos good? I wonder as I observe the faces in COSTCO looking kind 've devoid as they wander about ... actually appearing as they didn't know what they came for initially ... thus the displaced initiation? People then have to check out the marketplace Margaret ... and what you required will have to wait!

It appears as a fundamental phenomena of shock ... while the mercantile steels everything they got ... mercy 'n Aries? Merc, Mars ... let the conflict begin ... and the toxin flows ... therein the rube of the crimson stuff ... the corruption of the kho per ... small coin? But a great conductor ...

Write it for those that didn't want to know ... thus the retaining of the sacred insubstantial ...

Good morning. My news feeds are talking about how everyone is sick lately. I have a fairly strong immune system which generally fights and fights and fights until the rest of the world is healthy again...and then I get sick. I hope everyone here is healthy at the moment!

Working hard Monday meant I had a pretty lousy Tuesday, but I'm on the mend today. Advil Cold and Sinus is better than Tylenol, I can confirm.

Zach brings things home, but he only had sniffles for a day. The little bastard almost never gets sick. I used to be like that. Those were good years.

Those were good years.
I don't think I've ever had those years. I've always had something basically every winter. If not respiratory then gastro-intestinal. Pandemic was actually better, probably because I wasn't exposed as much due to working from home and not being out and about, but things seem to be back to normal. Last winter it was COVID. Waiting to see what shows up this winter. RSV is the only thing I'm not immunized for so maybe it.
