Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

Just found out about a really kewl service. If you give them a time and date you can buy a starmap of the night sky when something special happened. I'm thinking of possibly giving one to Yobo for White Day in March of 2025

Good morning! For days when laughing and sighing are both appropriate, for book clubs going through less-than-exciting books, for illnesses and quick short appointments with medical staff, family health issues and all the other stuff that comes up, we pause to gather round the Coffee Cart for conversation, support, and good company. Coffee just finished brewing, tea water is boiling, a nice selection of warm Danishes await. Come on when you have a chance, and join the fun! All is ready, all are welcome.

Normally, our dog comes and looks at me to be let out, then he goes to bed in our room..

That is generally about 9 and he is up at about 6:30

I am mostly adjusted for waking up but my appetite is still a bit confused so I feel hungry too early for meals.

My car doesn't adjust automatically, which I find odd in a relatively new model (2023 Civic) but it is fixable.

Good morning. When I started working in AB, I was still living in BC. I rented a room in the work city. When DST was in effect, the two towns were in different time zones. That meant twice weekly time changes. We're adjusted here now. That being said, it was nice living in a place that didn't do DST.

I just talked to the doctor. He said the lung xray showed nothing. He's thinking it's probably a bronchitis which doesn't show up on a lung xray. He's going to be away for a week. He said he will send a prescription to the pharmacy and tell them not to fill it. He said if my symptoms get worse then an antibiotic may be warranted. I'm frankly glad he's not in a hurry to just throw antibiotics around. I asked for a copy of the xray report and he will send it to me. He mentioned that it's good to have an abundance of caution given that I'm immunocompromised. I told him that's the reason I decided to get checked out. I might not have done anything under normal circumstances.

I really appreciate his response.

Good morning! Dealing with DST hangover, results of chest x-rays, and all the other stuff that will arise, we bring them with us to the Coffee Cart, where we will discuss, support one another, drink coffee and tea, (almost hot chocolate season, too) and indulge in fresh doughnuts. All is ready, coffee is fresh brewed, tea water hot; all are welcome. Come drop by when you can!

A few years ago I had a consulting gig in downtown Toronto it was supposed to be remote but they altered to me having to be in office 4 days a week. I tried commuting - ugh. I tried driving, driving combined with hotel, go train. I hated it.

For those who don't know Toronto driving is just not fun.

I ended up using a limo service and being able to work while in car. Stayed in hotel, but no parking. It worked

Today I am going to a conference smack downtown . Registration 8-9. Tons of schmoozing. It's my security peeps

I hummed and hawed on how to get here

Ended up getting a limo. Pick up at 6:30am. Slept in own bed last night. Slept for first 30 min of ride. Fingers crossed should arrive rested and happy.
