Poor Lucy

It's quite windy here which means you don't want to be walking in our area due to trees and potential falling branches

Lucy will be locked in the house with lights off so she doesn't go insane.
LOL. I think we used to take our beagle down to the basement and shut as many doors between him and the front as possible. The doorbell ringing set him off every time.

So the weather held in the end. There were already some families, mostly the youngest kids, out and about when I was on my walk after work. The decorating is a bit nuts around here, but not as crazy as some of the pics and videos I see online.

It's currently almost 5 pm. The rain has started and is quite heavy. The kiddos will be wet tonight.

Zach totally got into the Halloween spirit tonight. Ran from house to house. I kept up a steady walk and it worked out great. He ran, knocked on doors and I got In a nice stroll.

Then, without warning, he was done.

I tried to get him to hit some more houses on the way home. He wouldn't. Eventually it came out that he felt he had enough candy. Then it came out that he feels he shouldn't have more candy because he wants to be mature and doesn't want cavities. It was cute.

He'll make me mad later tonight, I'm sure. It in that moment, he was cute. Told him I was proud of him. Can't let that happen again.

My choice would probably be neither. I'm averse to crowds even under safe conditions (introvert). Used to enjoy my friends' Halloween parties, which were maybe a dozen or two tops, most of whom I at least vaguely knew, often less.
Oh, yeah, I'm pretty much the same. I prefer small gatherings to large ones.

But I'll often enough go to where the larger crowds are. I'm also an introvert, but with my extroverted sensing love the things associated with larger celebrations

The only candy I gave out for Halloween this year was full size chocolate bars, and it was to my students. Way back when I was a boy, I remember the fun size chocolate bars being almost full size. Now, they're like one little bite that you get. What's "fun" about that?

Good morning! The trick-or-treaters have come and gone for another year, dog and doorbells trauma, leftover candy, cute costumes, and all the other stuff that last night brought. We gather round the Coffee Cart (which is a good place to get rid of leftover candy) to chat and support, to drink coffee and tea, and indulge in squares and brownies. The tea water is boiling, coffee is fresh brewed. Come and join the conversation!

We didn't participate this year. We had the lights out at the front of the house and didn't get any knocks on the door.

I saw one group of kids going by on the sidewalk across the street. It's such a great image.

Numbers here have been going down over the years.

Lovely, thank you Redbaron. I've recently switched from drinking Vanilla Lattes to drinking Cafe Macchiatos. I appreciate evening coffee
