I too have six grandsons. The only girl is a step who isn't interested in an extra set of grandparents. We learned about her wedding via FB.
Who declines an extra set of grandparents???
I'm heading to church this morning. The name of the minister being hired to start in February will be announced I know who it is because I'm on council. I'm glad I won't have to keep the secret much longer.![]()
Is it anyone we WC or WC2 crowd might know? Please fill us in when you can.
I'm just happy to have been nominated.I don't think so.
There's a definite shortage of cousins in my family, esp. Little M's generation. Dad only had one sister so I have two first cousins. Only one of them has kids, though, and only one. Meanwhile, on my side, one brother has two kids. So Little M has a grand total of two first cousins and one second cousin and I only had two first cousins, plus one by marriage (my maternal uncle had a stepdaughter but we lost touch after his death). There's a horde of further removed cousins, esp. on my mother's side, but we have little contact with them anymore. When my granddaughter was born, she had four great-grandparents still living and four grandparents. So 8 of us out of a possible 12!
Sadly, the great-grandparents are gone now but she still has all four of us grandparents.
And no cousins on either side! She has all four of us to herself. I wonder how often this happens
we supplied a rather nice gift that she didn't thank us for. Her dad says she LOVES what we gave them. What a silly girl!

Where is the Uncomfortable With Compliments emoji?Exactly. Can a kid have too many grandparents? Especially when they're as wonderful as our @KayTheCurler ? I've met her in person and can confirm she's just as cool in person.
I keep track of my reading on Goodreads and Librarything.com. A couple of times I have re-read a book and only recognized minimal parts of it. Then when I looked back to the date I had first read it, I realized how hectic my life was...No wonder it didn't sink in!
