Valentine's Day has long been a struggle for me. I never had a valentine till I was in my mid 40s, so I have a lot of painful memories of that day. Even now that my Yobo and I are together, I spend my Valentine's Days alone
Hopefully you remember your Yobo?

This reminds me of how gym class and team sports made me feel in high school!

Valentine's Day is pretty much free of emotional baggage for me but Christmas has some. I still enjoy Advent and Christmas though.

Claire is in her second year working as a coach. She needs a ton of snow for her cross courses. I know it inconveniences many, but we need a few dumps to make up for last year when we had to make everything and watch it drain down the hill a week later, every week it seemed.
Yeah, Boler here would like a snowy winter. Last winter was rough on them, I heard (I work with a guy who is a volunteer on ski patrol there). Maybe I can hire some of those energetic young skiers to shovel my drive and walk. I assume they are less likely to have back and knee problems than this old fart. :giggle:

I find birthday's do help in terms of ensuring we focus on things and keep busy.

October is a zoo for us. Wedding anniversary, son's and granddaughter's birthdays, plus Thanksgiving, then throw in house sale, and my contract going insane this year.
I need to be sewing to prep for Christmas, and right now, November is not looking to be quiet, and have some social engagements in there too
E-gad will be the words you hear soon out of my mouth.

February was always busy with 4 out of 5 of us kids birthday's, plus my Dad's, plus valentine's day.
Now it is only really my sister & mine, and we like to travel during it, or at least spend a week together. We shall see. She is talking about Japan in January, in which case, I would travel then with her.

I have family member's who experience SAD. Luckily for them, they are able to build going south into their plan. One will leave in early December to get that much needed sun.

If I remember correctly, your wife has a flower shop, and so likely is really busy at Valentine's Day (or was really busy).
Am i remembering correctly?

Remember to receive a gift from her with thanks.
I remember to give a gift to her on White Day, March 14
Learned something new!

White Day is observed on March 14 in Korea as a sequel to Valentine's Day. On February 14, it is customary for women to present chocolates to their partners, while men return the favor on this day by offering a gift to their significant other - and that's the tale of White Day.

Yep. And traditionally on March 14 the men would give white-colored gifts such as marshmallows, or white chocolate. The white color represents purity and sincerity

I had a busy day today. It was good though. Knitting group this morning, coffee with cancer ladies this afternoon. I'm knitting a shawl for a friend out of leftover yarn. It will be like Joseph's coat. Colourful. I decided the recipient would like some sparkle. I stopped in to the local yarn store and found some sparkle. It will be fun to knit and fun to surprise her.

oh my goodness.

Message to self -- be more cautious about texting.

i had been messaging a potential new housekeeper, Michelle, who advised me she was currently sick, but, would get back to me tomorrow. No problem.

I texted my son, Michael, to say "hey, you should go to shoppers". response: i got was "i went yesterday", to which i responded, damn.

Then, I realized that i was texting the new cleaner.
Lots of apologies from me, and a bunch of laughs from her.
Should be an interesting call when we do talk!
