Quiet day here. Rain, rain, rain outside so I won't be doing the outdoor walk. Maybe I'll do some Christmas baking after I mail cards. I'm a little blah about the season ever since my sisters did the yelling thing at me whenever I talked about next steps with Mom. I'm keeping my distance from what seems toxic to me, but it's hard...we've always been close.

Yeah, weather sucks here, too. Was lovely yesterday, though. Got out for a walk for the first time in weeks.

Now does enigma restrain or just contain dark Latin words? ... the resolution is dark and mysterious because means to an end of intelligence ... don't wish to know! It is a sophisticated problem given the inclusion of hostile hatred! Niger essence ... black out! Then there are snow jobs ...

Oh, don't worry, alternating between wet snow and cold rain is not just a West Coast thing. Southwestern Ontario has days like that, especially late in Winter or early in Spring.

There's a line somewhere between Cambridge and London where you can go from torrential rain to a raging blizzard. It's somewhere around the exit for Drumbo, Ontario. I used to hit it sometimes coming back from the GTA on business trips and a friend at work hit it coming back from Pearson after a recent vacation.

I enjoyed lunch with my group. The amber alert went off while we were in the restaurant. What a weird experience. At first we wondered if it was the fire alarm for the restaurant. We quickly figured out it was our phones. Our group was 9 and there were other customers around. It was a little concerning. Sadly the alert was about a baby in Surrey.

It snowed while we were in the restaurant. I wiped the car off before I got it. Now it's back to a cold rain. Driving from the south end of town to the north end was interesting. The highway had big puddles and was very wet.

We're indoors and cozy now.

Just back from a hypnotist show. My first. Of couse one always thinks it’s a scam. But I knew one of the people hypnotized and she isn’t the type of person pretending. It is amazing how this happens. I spoke briefly to one other one and he thought that he has been sleeping deeply the whole time.
What do you think about hypnosis?

Fun!

I learned how to lucid dream thanks to a hypnosis tape which i would listen to again and again

Hypnosis works

It relys on the imagination. And the imagination is POWERFUL as I am sure you know

There are people who are more hypnotizable; that is why these hypnotists will often do some preliminary thing to determine how hypnotizable someone is

I have heard cases of people getting blisters from holding an imagined hot object

The mind-body link is insanely interrelated

It seems to work essentially by the Hypnotee (the one who is Hypnotizes) gives permission to the Hypnotist...so it doesn't seem to create something that isn't there but rather works with what is already there?

I agree with those who think that the Orange Pimple uses hypnotist techniques. Words are quite powerful, despite them being, by themselves, meaningless sounds or symbols

Norman Vincent Peale was a very successful hypnotist. He is the founder of a huge USA concept the Power of Positive Thinking. One can self-hypnotize (for good and ill--it can be said that the Orange Pimple has hypnotized himself too much lol)

NBA Basketball players use aform of self hypnosis. Before a game they imagine themselves sinking hoops and so on. Their ability to do so increases in the game.

People have been able to use hypnosis to change habits. I was able to learn how to lucid dream and also to in real time predict conversations (not intentional -- I gained the ability for a finite amount of time after a few sessions with this educator my dad intro'd me to -- my family was exposed to very catholic tastes...that is in diverse...)

I have been to a few hypnosis celebrity events. Reveen is the most famous. Early on when I was discovering nightclubbing they had a hypnotist and he was an err...real "charmer" :p in that he mass hypnotized the men to have their groins grow and grow while the women to have their chests do the same and I was concerned that was going to happen to me (my chest) so I was glad I hadn't been hypnotized...

Also we still don't grok how Placebo and Nocebo work...it could have something to do with our imagination and hypnosis...

Any aftereffects you notice?
