Cool pictures. Do you know what kind of a “uniform” he is wearing?

Apparently it was the Orange Lodge. That was a protestant, anti-Catholic club. I originally thought Masons. The Orange Lodge would have been similar. His sash has LOL on it which in those days meant Loyal Orange Lodge

The Loyal Orange Lodge is a group of God fearing Protestant men, loyal to the monarchy, bound together by a common view of the world and an enduring respect of our heritage. We work together to ensure our way of life has a place in the modern world. We accomplish this by supporting our local communities and honouring the deeds of our fore fathers.”

Orange Lodge

The history goes back to William of Orange.

Good Thursday morning! We think about those in the Maritime region and the storm heading their way, maybe; the wonders of internet in the middle of a lake, novels with plot twists, family ties, and all the other things that pop up. We gather round the Coffee Cart for chat and hot beverages, and any such goodies as may appear. C'mon in, and join the fun!

Knock knock... O, never mind. Good morning! Friday has arrived. Again we remember Hurricane Lee, heading toward the Maritimes, hoping that those who live there will stay safe. We bring this concern, and other things on our mind, to the Coffee Cart, for conversation and community, hot beverages, and possibly more knock knock jokes? All is ready, come join in!

Good morning! Maybe in next year's budget we should include funding for a karaoke machine? Seems sometimes it might come in handy.
The Coffee Cart is ready, fresh perked coffee and tea water boiling, and a few goodies around. Come bring your thoughts and concerns, and join in spirit round the Coffee Cart, for chats and support.

Good morning! Raining here- a couple of Nova Scotians are already without power but it has ‘t hit here yet.
It’s 19 degrees. Landfall expected later today. It will be a day of reading and cleaning the house

Take care, @Mrs.Anteater.

Do you prefer to do housework in a blitz or a little bit at a time?
We kind of blitz. Every other week there's dusting, vacuuming of carpeted floors, and usually some odd jobs. Weekly, I wash the hard floors (vinyl in the bathrooms and kitchen, ceramic in the main floor hall) and Mrs. M waters the plants. Sometimes smaller jobs happen in between, though.

I do little bits at a time usually, which means I never have a completely clean house! I washed floors this week, and today...you'd never know it. So I'll spot wash, vacuum, dush, clean bathroom, do laundry, and yes...water the plants. I have a to-do list and will be happy when it is to-done!

Even if you do it all at once, you won't have a completely clean house for very long. Sad to say.

We live in comfortable imperfect. I do a bit at a time. The floor gets vacuumed when the Dyson is charged and sometimes when the floor is moving (dog hairs) I usually do dishes everyday. I've had a cold or some kind of plague for the last couple days so the dishes await. Maybe today.

I tested negative for covid for what it's worth.

My kids tell me that I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to dishes. I never let them sit long...and I always seem to be washing dishes. No dishwasher. My house is very imperfect...ugly kitchen, needs a paint job badly, old old old furniture, and my husband has newspapers spread everywhere. BUT...the dishes are done!

Maybe entropy is related to Jacob's mud wrestling ... on that alternate side of time when in an abstract state .... unbelievable ... right!

The rites of lyres ...

I have a rumba robot vacuum that vacuums daily and a brava mop that runs every other day
Housecleaner comes every other week and does kitchen, washrooms (4), stairs and floors and whatever else she can do in 3 hrs
Periodically, come in for more.

I do tidying up, sorting, surfaces, . Husband does dishes.

I don't like dog hair, but like dogs
