Good morning. I'm at my sister's hanging with her cat while she and b-i-l head to Alberta for family stuff. It's quiet here and cat isn't sure what to make of me
Cats can be funny little things.

I just saw my first crocus flowers this morning. I was out for a walk but they were right across the street. This same house is always the first to have hyacinths. The leaves are up but no sign of flowers yet

This guy has been a scaredy cat. He loves his people and doesn't particularly seem to like other people. He's used to the dog coming over and is quite indignant that such a creature should invade his home. It's just me here right now with no dog so we'll see how it goes.

I don't recall my family going on Good Friday like, ever. Maybe Dad when he was on worship and/or the board.

My youngest still talks about the year he got roped into carrying the cross (massive wooden thing) from the church on the other side of town to our church.

I'm not sure what was worse -- that the local reporter took a photo, and as a young teen he was in the paper (embarassing)..or that the differential with the other person was such that he ended up carrying most of the weight.

In one community I served, the four churches traditionally had shared Good Friday in the evening with services at all four churches starting with the church where the services ended the year before. A cross would be carried from church to church. I was serving a two point charge where the second point was in the country about 5 km from town and had a Good Friday service in the morning. In the second year I started a short lived tradition of carrying the cross from the rural church to town. Most years there was still some snow in the ditches. A couple of my children usually came with me.

I think that in a world where we are flooded with tragedies to the point that it numbs our empathy, a time of reflection on the state of the world, ideally with an action of solidarity, like writing letters for Amnesty or supporting an environmental action followed by Easter Saturday- a day of calm and rest and after that celebration - all these days can have their meaning. Carrying a cross through the neighbourhood not so much.

Good morning! As we share memories of Holy Weeks past, and mention of cats, and all the other things that come up, let us gather round the Coffee Cart. For conversation, community and hot beverages, we join here in spirit. All is ready, Come on in.,

Good morning. Is this the R & F room? I've freshened up the coffee and tea and have brought in a plate of snacks. I'm closer to finishing a sweater for hubby that I sort of started 20+ years ago. I'll just sit by the fire here and work on it. Anyone care to join me?

The argument room is down the hall to the right. ;)

Pretty sure it was moved to the basement, at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.

Oh that's the complaints clinic. Though now I think of it, the arguments clinic is down that hall. It's beside the insults clinic. Don't be a stupid git. ;)

What argument? I must have missed it. All I saw was a few people talking about Palm/ Passion Sunday.

Here is the post that kicked off the topic:
Good morning.

For all those attending church, may Palm Sunday be a meaningful service
But let's not have an argument about whether or not we are arguing.

I will grab my crocheting.

No argument happened. I was trying to be funny. Have we no fans of vintage comedy skits??

Python fan here. I assumed the Python references were spillover from (redacted) thread. Too bad it could not just stay in there.

Good morning. After a very long, rough day at work, things seem to be progressing better today. Unfortunately, my stupid HVAC unit has decided that I am too warm and is blowing cold air on me (I am in the office today).
