Good morning. These were the views outside our windows this morning. We were glad we didn't have to go anywhere yesterday. The roads were a gong show. One friend spent over four hours travelling from Comox to Nanaimo, a trip that normally takes just over an hour. Sounds like things are much improved today

Fersure that looks like stay home snow! Our town hadn't finished clearing from a significant dump when Lo and Behold we got more. I have a dental appointment tomorrow and it is looking likely that my guy will have to be a taxi driver. Make that another Fersure if we get more snow overnight.

We had some flurries dancing around as I drove home today. Given that the temperature more or less plummeted between 8 and 11 in the morning, probably not a surprise.

We had -8 this morning and are getting +8 tonight with a windstorm. Hopefully that will end early in the morning because I got a call today that they are coming to install my big window that had been on order since March. Yay, I am glad it won’t be installed in -15 in February. Just hope the wind will not make them drop the window.

Earthquake info is a bit all over the place. Immediate was 5.6, estimate when as high as a 6 for a bit. The most recent info I could find said 5.58 and the US is ranking it lower. Depth keeps changing too.
Fracking was initially thought to be a possible cause, but usually those earthquakes are really weak. Based on the changed depth some earthquake experts are now saying most probable is natural. There's been a few strong aftershocks but I haven't noticed anything major besides the one. I felt a bit of vibration for a short period but is was a more typical feeling than the actual earthquake. I would easily pass it off as sometime else if there was something to match it too - construction, washing machine, wind, etc. but there wasn't anything like that.

I found it odd, some people heard it instead of feeling it. I guess just depends if you had something nearby that would move in the right direction. I had blankets and a mattress moving. Standing on the floor maybe I wouldn't have felt it as strongly.

It is earthshaking what humanity does as a mite of a parasitic item ... and doesn't know it as they claim psyche and knowledge is evil and should be eliminated!

It is said there are great powers that claim to know better how to run the earth ... so they remain a grand gaslight in the black sky overhead ... could be an abstract baffle! Is that a confining stigma? Then the spark that set the auld thing off ...

Good morning! Happy December! As we continue to chat about weather, about earthquakes, about all sorts of other thins, let us gather round the coffee cart, in solidarity. All things are ready, come and help yourself (and others).

Oops, it should have posted. Don't know what happened this morning

Thanks to you both. I was out this morning but am ready for a soothing cuppa now. A sweet nibble would go down well too. I spent the morning with a friend visiting the bank to close a Club account. Turned out that the simplest way to do that was to carry the cash to the Food Bank ourselves. So that was what we did. Needless to say they were delighted to get almost $2,000 as a surprise donation. It was nice that the remaining members mostly were in favour of the action (all but one, who wouldn't tell us her idea!) and agreed as to where the money should go.

Earthquakes in the US and BC can be centered lower than where waste water or fracking fluids are being injected and can occur over 50,,km from the site of people the injection. Fracking related earthquakes in BC are close to 5 or more at times. Different news articles place the center on much different places. Yesterday sounded like it was on the edge of the Redearth oilfield and an article today placed in the limestone formation west of Peace River. It was apparently
strong enough to be felt over most of Alberta.

I don't know enough to have an opinion as to why, I just know what was stated in interviews. BC had one not long ago too. Fb acquaintance posted, not totally sure where she is other than near the coast. I do wonder if they are connected although the distance is quite far.

Good morning! Happy Friday! As some of us feel the earth move under our feet, as new windows are installed, as life goes on, let us pause in our sojourning, and gather round the Coffee Cart, for conversation and community, and hot beverages of all types. All is ready.

Have to go now and assist a group do turkey a-la-king ... even though an old testifier said we need no king because of small contained ideals we need to dig up ... what a sensation to wisness that is a hostile Christian Base!

How did this happen????

Just did a poop patrol of our yard and discovered the strong winds we had over the past couple of days pushed our shed partly off of its platform. It is time to put it back in place again and anchor it with screws into the platform. I thought it was a lot windier than last year and moving the shed supports my belief. I am glad these metal sheds are light enough for me to lift it up by myself. Working on our Christmas letter. We already got Christmas cards from Calgary and Australia.

We almost lost a garbage can when that system came through here on Wednesday (why is it these systems always come on garbage day, eh?). I found it about four doors down on the other side of the street.

Are these winds unusual?
Not sure. Ours came on extremely strong in a very short time. Basically sometime between 8 and 11 in the morning our temperature dropped by 6 degrees and the wind went from minimal to so strong we had trouble opening our staff door at the office. Which seems unusual at first blush but really, it could just be a strong front rolling in.

I was referring to having so much wind with winds frequently in the 50km/h ,+ range for the past few weeks. Maybe it is not as windy in the London area as Eastern Ontario.
