Dusting is one of those jobs I can spend more time thinking about than actually doing.

If anyone wants to talk more about household chores, come on over to the dishwashing thread in Social.

I've had a busy morning already. Dashed out of the house at 9:05, drove to Italian Bakery to pick up a nice package of treats to deliver to a friend, stopped at the big guy's to feed his fish and retrieve the church ice cream from his freezer, nipped in the church to deliver the ice cream and put the crock pots back on, then delivered card and Italian pastries to friend, then home in time for dog-walker to pick up the hound at 10, because there was black ice everywhere when he tried to walk her at 7:25.

We had fog here this morning, which then left a nice sheen of frost on everything since the ground temp was 0ish. Was better by the time I headed to work at 8:30 and no black ice noted.

I'm tired just seeing all that @BetteTheRed did this morning. It's currently 9:17 here. I've gotten out of bed, made coffee, petted the dog, said hello to the husband and plunked my butt in the recliner. :)

I'm knitting some socks for three people who thankfully have small feet. I should get the second sock of the first pair done today.

We had -8 this morning, but will be +8 on Sunday, which is a good time to put outdoors lights up. Will get the Christmas tree on Saturday ( we always go with friends).
Grand-dog sitting tonight because of work Christmas party. He sniffed the neighbourhood, pooped in the yard and after barking a while for no reason has now settled down on the carpet. I think he misses that I don’t have a couch, because that’s where he he always sits with his humans.

Busyish day for me - got a few house chores done; started 'scrubbing' the carpet on the stairs - different to use the hand tool vs the big machine that is for all the room rugs, but I think I've figured it out. Finished up prep for for a workshop I'm leading on Sat afternoon. Wanted to make sure the computer work for that is all finished today, as I have an eye appt tomorrow morning which will involve the 'dilation drops' - so things might be a bit blurry for a while.
Learned my friend has been accepted (YAY!) for stem cell transplant & has an admission date in January. There is both joy and trepidation approaching this turning point for her - it's such a huge procedure to undergo.

I'm back from celebration of life for a friend. A bit different but nice, it was held at the local beach house a bit of a surprise but she was involved with the community here so it made sense. The style definitely was suiting for the person I knew. Far too young though, 10 years younger than me and if the healthcare system was in a better state I wonder if she'd still be here.

How is everybody doing with Christmas gifts?
Des anybody have a suggestion for a good hand lotion for cracking dry hands of a mechanic?
And maybe a good soap to remove grease and is gentle to the skin?

We had sad news today. My uncle died. He went to the hospital on Saturday with problems related to an ongoing health issue. He had surgery and never recovered. They chose take him off life supports and he died an hour later at noon. He was 87. I'm thankful he was my uncle. He was a world class artist, bird carver. He was a great role model/elder.

Christmas gifts fairly easy for me, because pretty limited. Son's box purchased and started

Two best lotions for mechanic's hands: i) bag balm, and ii) o'keefe's working hands.

Third, and I can't use it now, but best, original Palmolive.

Palmolive dish detergent or is there a soap bar?

Good morning! Goodness, but the days are filling up quickly. Weather and busy days, life celebrations and passing of family members, Christmas gifts and cleaning supplies gentle on hands, and all the other stuff that goes on. The Coffee Cart is up and running, to furnish a gathering spot for conversation and support. More than an office water cooler, less than an organized support group, we have our place. Come join us.

Condolences to the family, @Northwind. Sounds like he at least lived to a good age and had a creative, productive life.

So it is Black Friday and the weather here is kind of living up to that. Very dark and cloudy, though only a 30% chance of showers.

But it is Friday and so those of us still in the working world have a weekend to look forward to. Canada plays at the Cup again on Sunday morning, so I might actually get to see this one after following the first game just using a text feed on Yahoo! (because I was in a Teams meeting).
