Room For All

We are hoping to make Regina our long term home :) Moving is not fun with a baby and an anxious cat.
Regina could be a good place to set down some roots GiancarloZ. There are some wonderful parks to explore and a friend told me that you can walk on trails all the way across the city.

We moved with a brand new baby back in 1971.

Update: most tests were good. Blood work suggested something was going on so they're admitting him for further tests
Gee Mr. Northwind - meds are sometimes important! Hope you get thoroughly checked and the fixes are simple and painless.

Mr. Curler is on his way to the city for surgery to repair an abdominal aneurysm. I will be glad when it is all over and he is safely home.

Oh, Hugs to Mr. Northwind. I am learning that BP meds are not to be messed with.

Also, prayers for Mr. Curler.

I had a very uneventful visit to the dentist this afternoon for a cleaning and ex-rays; grateful for the miracle that is nitrous oxide coupled with meditation tracks on Youtube and wireless earphones.

And our first in-person bible study in two and a half years this morning. VERY pleasant although my stash of green tea has disappeared and will have to be replaced.

And yay, and welcome back and some great news, @GiancarloZ !

Hi everyone! Coming here to provide a few life updates :)
Haven't been able to lurk or post here as a baby eats up one's time. Will catch up in the next few days.
1. We christened Leonor at St Mungo's United Church in Cushing, Quebec, on 16 April 2022. Some photos on my profile page. It is a beautiful old country church, built in 1836 and very meaningful for my wife and her family. It was a beautiful service provided by a beloved Minister!
2. I accepted a job offer from the Government of Saskatchewan and on July 25 we moved to Regina. The city surprised us and we love it! Such a nice slower pace of life.
We went to a joint service at St. Mungo's in June. We live across the river. We moved from St. Paul, Alberta to Halifax with a five month old baby, then from Halifax to Montreal and back the next summer. The following summer was to Alberta and back with a baby and a toddler. Ordination included a move to Hudson Bay. Saskatchewan, about 3 to 4 hours north east of Regina. No pets for our moves until 2000. Moves help define what we really need.

I'm back, voted for the provincial party. Wasn't thrilled to be a rec center, especially since I was told in advance there would be options other than in person and that didn't happen. With it being a short week though it wasn't too busy in the building considering the size of it. Plus I think it's the newest one in the city so HVAC system should give really good ventilation.

oh gosh Northwind - looking for a bed sounds like they're admitting him for a bit :-( Hopefully just for monitoring & then home.

And Kay - gentle hugs for Mr Curler's surgery & recovery to go well. Lots happening.

Good morning! Dart teams, upcoming memorial services, updates from those starting new jobs and moving to new places, the health of spouses raising concerns, the room has room for it all. Once again, coffee and tea are ready, come on in.

I didn't know you had been in Hudson Bay, Jimkenny. I have friends there!
The Daisleys are on our Christmas card list. Nancy A. is one of my Facebook friends. I forget the names of other friends we had there. Nancy A is a friend of one of my friends in Calgary. They went to nursing school at the same time. We were there from 1989 to 1992 when we moved to Elrose.

Imagine those that are terrorized by the move into the great unknown and declare they fear nothing but their surroundings ... so the environment must be put down ... in their mind as a nihilism ... thus isolated and anonymity?

Leaves me insecure about what much of what those folks know ...

Dude. You get around. You are seeing more of this country than I have.

When you move there I think you get Roughriders seasons tickets.

Well my afternoon plans changed. Hubby told me he has been having chest pains that should get checked out. He stopped taking blood pressure meds some time ago. Now, surprise surprise, he has high blood pressure. Hopefully this is nothing and that he will return to taking his meds. This is a good Emerg for what it's worth.
Guys are terrible for admitting anything is off. I'm in a queue right now for ultrasound and x-rays on my heel that's been bothering me for over a year. When I finally went to a doctor for it 2 days ago he asked me how I was even walking. Apparently, this is one hell of a bone spur I have on my left heel.

Hope all goes well with your guy. This one is just an idiot who may have torn his achillies.

Thanks. I hope your heel gets better soon.

Hubby apparently had a lousy sleep. The nitro patch gave him headaches and body aches. They've given him a bit of morphine. He's had more blood drawn and should hear when the ultrasound happens soon.

I hope things go well for your hubby. Everything okay for you being temporarily on your own in the motor home?

Dog and I are good here. This is a nice quiet park. I'm glad we're here and not further afield. We move to our winter spot on the 15th. If we need help moving the trailer there is lots of help. I'm thankful for a good local hospital and good friends. Thanks

This is the last week of my vacation. Did a bit of a tour yesterday to the South Shore. First to Mahone Bay ( for those who know the location, stopping into “The Teazer”, which is a nice gift shop with local and not local crafts and gifts. Then stopped at a French Bistro. It was too early to have lunch ( they have a variety of crepes made with buckwheat I am itching to try), so I picked up a London Dog and a lemon curd cake and continued on to Lunenburg, where I enjoyed it watching over the bay and wondering how people could play golf on the local golf place which is on a hill. The Bluenose was docked across the bay and the weather was just lovely.
Then stopped at the Laurie Swim Art Gallery, an amazing artist who makes pictures out of fabric. Her husband was telling me the big ones take her six months to make- and sell for $24-48 000.
Here the view down the street onto the harbour of Lunenburg. The hill you are looking at is the golf course.0B99EA20-80BD-4DE7-9CD0-C4A77AC48C48.jpeg
