Sigh, you know how they say that making appointments for other people isn't great because they are less likely to show up? Chemguy crawled back into bed, I'm doing my own thing and my phone dings as I had stuck his vaccine appointment in my calendar. It's automatic to give me a reminder 10 minutes beforehand. It was in his phone too but he didn't bother with a reminder, my guess he would have been notified right at the appointment time.

Chemguy rarely comes across as stressed he was just acting pissed off but I do think that's how his stress came off today. He did thank me as he went out the door. Good thing the pharmacy is close! Hopefully he didn't arrive too late.

He claims he got there 3 minutes before his appointment. I think the clock in hos truck must be a little slow.
No mixing and matching for us - not that we really cared, it's just how it worked out. 3 Moderna for me and 3 Pfizer for him. Mine all at one pharmacy, his at 3 different pharmacies.

Good morning! I think it's Thursday. Anyway, for those who make it safe and back from destination, for those who got their vaccination with split-second precision timing, for mixes and matches and everything in between, let us gather in spirit around the coffee cart, and raise mugs to the accomplishments of yesterday and plans for a new year (I hear one's coming in a few days... ) Help yourself.

Is coffee an essence of something else?

There is so much we can't be sure of because of great fiction; said to be a function of the psyche to avoid notice ... and thus psychological fiction ... over which we should tread lightly ... for fear of what is hidden there ... gnostic, or sacred (both being hidden faction of quality that we can't get into in present form ... thus essence that can pass such Wahls with a giggle as it may be illusionary!

Besides people would rather repeat lies that tell truth as the authorities wouldn't be agreeable about what could prove to be critical info!

Always carry acrostic ... so you won't fall completely into the holes ... flaws in dark creation. Some say you should go there as it represents a fey mystique ... maybe a missed IHCy item ... Eire it is ... laid out as a weird metaphor ... just too cheeky!

Base, or Ba's less bottom lines ... as that under foot goes on and on ... the vanishing point appearing just on the horizon ... there it dips ...

Flatliners do not get it as it goes round ... thus spheres as rounders ...

This morning I am grateful that I have no need to go outside. No appointments, no shopping to do, nothing. Why does this bring gratitude? The temperature is -40 in both forms of measurement, and the windchill is -51 C. A good day to do some baking.

I don't miss those -40 temps. Stay warm Kay. I'm glad I didn't go home last night. I would probably have trouble making it to the city today. The snowfall warning was accurate so the roads are bad there. We'll see how it goes today.

Stay safe - from omicron, delta, snow and cold!
A FB friend said this morning that our actual situation was -51 windchill, making us the coldest place in Canada, and the second coldest in the world.
The snow plough came by late yesterday and left a ridge of snow at the end of our driveway. Hubby muttered "There's no D@#$ way I'm clearing that today".
I am making Bath Buns (traditional English sweet buns) so the house will smell yummy..

How do you keep your house warm? Wood heat? A heat pump would not do it. Electri might also be drafty?
Or is baking the solution?

We have a natural gas furnace that sends hot air through pipes to each room. Not the most environmentally friendly activity, I'm afraid. We designed the house that we built on the acreage we raised our kids on. There we had a much better system - lots of insulation in extra thick walls. Passive solar through south facing windows plus a small woodstove in the basement. Above the wood stove we installed an electric furnace for emergency situations (and for when we were away). The furnace fan sent hot air from the stove around the house through the ductwork. More efficient and cheaper - the wood grew free for the cutting!

We're slowly warming up here, but I still haven't left the house since Christmas. I didn't catch the windchill but we were down to somewhere past -40 too.
Chemguy has left the house a few times, but that was part of his laziness yesterday, his plan was to hang out under the covers with 'no where to go' haha.

We're supposed to have a couple of days of drizzle/rain, then back below zero, with not a lot of snow predicted. My snowplowing contract has been expensive this year thus far.

We drove into town for my first radiation treatment today. We considered cancelling because of the snow. My sister lives on a hill and the street hadn't been plowed. Once we got on the highway the road was fine. It was like spring-time in the north in Victoria today. Clear roads and about 0 degrees. I'm glad to have gotten that one done. One down, four to go.

Good morning! Happy New Year's Eve Day. We celebrate not having to go out in -40 degree weather, beginning of treatments, for heat sources for homes, and an entire year of memories. This morning, it's a coffee cart with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. Tonight it may transform into a wine bar..... But for the moment, let us gather round and converse and sip hot beverages. Come and get it.

Fortunately, we have always been a stay home and celebrate with some good food and maybe some year-end TV shows kind of household. So the pandemic doesn't really change our New Year. What did change it was the retirement of the Air Farce, which was our go-to year end show for years. I have been a fan since their radio days so Mrs. M got introduced to them pretty quickly once we started our relationship.

Yes, I could learn to live through New Year's Eve without Guy Lombardo and Dick Clark. But when Air Farce ended, it really left a hole in the evening.

That noodling blast ,,, really disturbs the NU's that is lined up for the winners ...

After all who owns the media ... or can the endemic not read into that in modern aging ... perhaps a kickback from pan demean loss? Brute overcomes it ... gravid force ... to a point or centre ...

Maybe best to remain on the horizon ... or even just over and out of sight of brutish ness ... the darker pool? If deep the brutes will attack ... tis iconic or an indication of termination! Keep an aye out for the remnant ... the left over gang ...

A German tradition on New Years eve is to watch “ the 90th birthday” on tv. Pretty much every channel is showing it several times. It’s only a 10 minute show, but funny. It’s a play anout a lady’s 90 th birthday. She has always celebrated her birthdays with her four friends, but all of them have long passed and her butler now has to pretend to be them.
