Wow. Things can move quickly. I just got a call from Victoria. I see the radiation oncologist on December 29th then can start radiation the next day. I'll get five treatments. I have an appointment with my local centre doc on the 30th so have tentatively booked my first treatment on that day.
Were these treatments already in the overall plan?

They are standard treatments under the circumstances. I've had a couple spots on my spine since I was diagnosed. They leave these alone unless there is pain or progression. Treatment is adapted as necessary so it isn't really an overall plan set in stone.

Yay for the quick, easy set up of appointments then! Just wanted to check it was a good thing in terms of what you expected to come.

Yes it is good. My oncologist and GP oncologist both mentioned radiation at my last appointments with them. I talked to my GP onc to ask about it and we decided to see how these scans are. The scans are good and the spots on my spine are the only mets. This is a way to nip them in the bud. And since it is targetted rather than systemic all the better

Good morning, all! We continue to ponder issues of treatments and such, as well as appreciate baked goodies. To stimulate our conversations, and to wash down the goodies, the coffee cart stands ready.

So grateful for our congregation's Blue Christmas service. I wasn't going to be able to attend tonight, as I had to work until 6:30, but the livestreaming was flawless, and I'd shared Dave's name with the Rev beforehand, so his was among the names read/candles lit. And our new pianist is friggin' amazing. And when you're sitting in front of a computer screen, no-one knows that you're sobbing your heart out (and let me tell you, I am not a pretty weep-er).

I'm glad you had that service. Is it still available?

I thought it would be, but not seeing it on YouTube, so maybe not because of individual names mentioned? Too bad, if so, because the liturgy was lovely.

Good morning! Tip of the hat this morn for whoever thought of a 'Blue Christmas' service, for those whose joy may be severely curtailed by circumstances beyond their control. The coffee cart is ready; come and get it.

Serendipity ... said to fit right into a song of the blues ... tis up there on the list! Thus blown ... a nose ahead or just knows?

Top o' the mornin' to ye! Happy Saturday! The coffee cart is up and running. Gather round and join the conversation.

Good morning. It's some combination of snow and rain here. That's okay because I'm going to work on finishing a quilt today. Indoors.

Got a bit of snow on the ground and more forecast but it is calm out right now.

Arm has been a bit tender but otherwise no side effects from shot 3 that I have noticed. Had a weird, and very painful, cramp in my knee (can you even have a knee cramp?) overnight but probably not related.
